My car was finished October 10. Been sitting at port in Germany waiting for the ram module ever since . At least there's no snow there now. 🤷🏾*♂️

Edit: Looks like I may be wrong. The touch screen deletions are not currently affecting M models. |

Yes. It costs money to prep and move newly produced cars coming off the factory line into storage. So it's more cost effective to just outfit those cars with the CIDs they have in hand with any extra CIDs going to the cars already in storage, than to do a first-in-first-out system. This is also why bmw is not giving us an explanation because they know we won't like it.

April sounds about right. I stopped by my dealer yesterday and had the Sales Manager tell me that the G80 is 3 months out. Didn't acknowledge QC, why it's delayed, what's going on, etc. but would only say the car is 3 months out.

Boy, this is disheartening. Have you also been in QC since early November? My dealer has not told me about a 3 month longer delay.

Anybody see any movement? Once I got out of QC this week I’m moving quickly. Now at the port awaiting a ship. Forgot to mention, I have no recalls so it would appear that holding us at the factory removes potential for recalls, fingers crossed.

This is the text I got from my CA after bugging him since Late Nov about my M4 being stuck in QC -
Any vehicles that remains in status 155 for a period of time is a vehicle the factory cannot complete due to a lack of part or parts from the supplier. This lack of parts is due to pandemic related supply chain issues. If the supplier cannot supply the part the factory cannot complete the vehicle. The vehicles are being completed as the factory receives parts from the supplier. However, we do not have an ETA for the factory receiving the parts. |

My email to him was very similar, pointing out what you did and also mentioning I am a long time BMW owner this being my 8th and 3rd M. The more people that send emails the better. Maybe (not counting on it) this will get someone’s attention. They have totally dropped the ball on this situation, especially not keeping us informed and bypassing cars that should have been a priority to get finished.

Well written and we'll all be shocked if you get a response...
I did get a call today from BMW Corporate confirming they're looking into my specific delay (77 days in QC today). The polite woman said she wouldn't have a report back until early next week - At least it's something... Now if she says parts shortage I'll have to protest since it's clear they have parts - Just allocating them elsewhere. The ultimate buzzkill - Must be like going to Hawaii and having it rain the whole time. |

Guys it sucks but unfortunately all of us that are stuck in QC are in a really bad situation, as we all already figured it out, there's a parts shortage with the RAM CID and whatever the hell else is missing for us week 43-47 folks, despite that fact cars are being produced every single day and are flying off of the assembly line with absolutely no delays. Unfortunately no matter who we email or who we complain to nothing is going to get resolved because BMW as a whole is in a win win situation because if any of us back out they can sell that car in a heartbeat for MSRP or more because of the current situation. The demand is so high for these cars, a few angry customers complaining will not make BMW change anything sadly.
It's definitely clear to me now that it's more cost effective to just equip all the cars with CIDs and RAMs right at the assembly line and use the excess for the ones in QC . We're either going to be that lucky 1 or 2 that move soon or we're just going to keep on waiting until they resolve this parts issue. |
