Today marks 8 weeks in QC for me. Also received my allocation in August. Build week 45.

curious , why do some cars get stuck in this purgatory?

i have a m3 cs xdrive on order. Allocation DEC 1st and it went through QC and to awaiting carrier assignment today.

They are building the same cars , i get it theres some options that differ but I think i got nearly every option on this car aside from the carbon brakes.

Their communication to the customer sucks and they must be allocating incoming parts to m3’s. Only thing I can think of. Also seems like the M3 factory is open while the M4 is closed till Monday from what I’ve been told.

I just received the following update from my CA who in turn received an update from his area rep:

- M3 and M4 stuck in 155 status. These vehicles have been produced, but are missing components like a CID (Central Information Display) or a RAM module


- Ram Modules- Port Oxnard expects a shipment of RAM modules next week, but doesn't know the quantity or for which audio system.


In typical fashion, it's vague and doesn't give any sort of timeframe.

EDIT:

I asked my CA if they could grant a waiver for my rate lock (locked in 0.9% on 11/21) and he said that I have 120 days however I would need to go with the current rate should the car arrive after that.

I have a g82 stuck in QC two weeks and now since before chirisfmas waiting on carrier assignment. So I'm a month in waiting but unclear for what.

Why are all week 1 builds getting out of qc in matter of hours ?!?! Isn't the factory supposedly closed?! I'm speechless reading some of these week 48+ threads..

I know! lol our cars have been production and QC buddies all the way since order. it's going to be like twins separated at birth when they finally get delivered

And besides the wheels I think they are identical twins.

With as many people who are getting the runaround from BMW, I'm surprised there aren't very many negative posts on their socials (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) to bring awareness to the issues with lack of communication on a public front…

Week 49 - just moved to in transit. Hoping it lands in the states with no issues.

Not sure how/why some of the other cars are impacted. I say this because again mine was loaded so I'd assume I'd be impacted on something as well.

Week 49 was in QC for 2 weeks and now according to genius and my sales guy I've awaiting a carrier assignment for a full month now. Others behind me have gotten a ship. Whole situation is a cluster at every point in the process.

Better than me, my car has been in QC for over 2 months and not moving.

I just got off the phone with a Genius rep and she provided me with her take on why my G80 has been held up in QC for nearly two months, saying that her best guess from speaking with the various groups within BMW is that it's likely due to issues with the interior parts that need to be color matched to the leather rather than RAM or amplifier parts since those can be installed at the VPCs as part of a stop sale. If others out there who are held up chose a leather color other than black (my build has Silverstone) then this explanation would make sense.
