Yep 10" might be pushing it, mine is 15" and I have a good amount of slack, but not too much.

I used the medium-sized pins, those slot in fairly easily but are snug enough to not come loose.

Mine was 15 inch

MirrorTap®, MT-4015, 15" Radar... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OQQWHLO...p_mob_ap_share

U can push cable back into the mirror if too much slack but 10 could probably work too depending on how u position yours.

Was able to install the 15" using the second to largest pins this weekend. My buddy came over and tested it with his radar detector as Santa is delivering my new V1 Gen 2 soon which required sending the old one in for "upgrade" credit.

Thanks Berzerker for the note about using the needle nosed pliers to pull the plug up and out. I probably would have been fumbling around with it forever if I hadn't.

I had contemplated doing this the morning after I picked up the car for the long drive home and decided not do deal with it. Turns out I easily could have. Thanks!

I'm having a very hard time separating the two trim pieces. They don't wanna separate. I have all the tech options on the car. None of the videos on YouTube have this specific mirror type.

Use a pry tool to crack apart the bottom parts of the two pieces, towards where the stem for the mirror is, insert a thin plastic pry tool between them, and twist so that they separate. Then pull out each side from where they are next to the roof liner. Once you get that specific insert popped out, the entire thing should fall right off.

Edit: Actually looking at your pictures, seems like you got it most of the way. You just need to pry tool them apart in more areas where they meet, at some point they should just fall right off.

For those who are having blown fuses what rider did you plug in first.

Did you plug the red in first and then plug the black in next?

For those who did it correct is there a correct order so I don’t blow a fuse

Nothing is powered until you plug the detector in, you shouldn't blow any fuses if you're going through the mirror.

Just insert the wires as shown a couple posts above and it'll work fine.
