Emailed canDO+, and it seems that iDrive 7 is completely untested on the G80, and only iDrive 8 has some testing done.
It seems a little more involved after going through the user guide and discussion than what I am comfortable with, so declined for now.
I was really only looking for the car to start up in the M Mode/Track screen

Hello! Hope this isn't against forum rules in one way or another, but we are still looking for ID7 testers (granted, more like a pre-Alpha at this stage). We have adjusted the terms, given the kind of help we need.

Anyone, please reply in this thread if you are interested!

I’ve now received and installed the Cando+ device and confirm it is fully working on the g8x platform w/ ID8. Currently using it to automatically set m view mode, set default startup settings , and to directly set DSC off/mdm modes without warnings or navigating menus. Very cool device with lots of potential for additional functionality as well.

This is great news and thanks for the feedback. I’m excited to potentially go this route as well. I don’t have many issues with this car other than not being able to link sport/track to my m buttons

i've never used cruise but i'd assume so as this is switching the view by sending the same commands over the canbus that the car does when you choose it from the idrive screen.

Contacted BimmerCode via email, to see what they can do to reprogramme it.
Doesn't seem if that has happened before.
How good would that be if they can sort it?on a pessimistic note though, asked when my wife's iX1 (BEV X1 in Oz) would be codable? they said probably not. Too hard!
