MY2023 Did Head Up Display Disappear for anyone else?

MY2023 M3 Comp. Had the car for about a month. Taken it to the hand car wash as you would. Car was in standby mode while cleaners did their thing.

Come out noticing HUD is missing/not enabled on windscreen

1. Switched car off and on. Drive-ready to Standby - No change
2. Voice command to switch HUD on - No Change (car response given as HUD is already on)
3. Arrived at destination, powered off the car, locked and then unlocked. Simulated new drive. - No change
4. Reset iDrive system by long press volume button procedure - No change
5. Menu> Vehicle Apps> Displays>HUD. Switched on/off. - No change
6. Menu> Vehicle Apps> Displays>HUD> Adjust height setting> moved up and down. Heard faint actuators sound.
Yes, HUD is back!

Did anybody else experience similar? Is HUD a bit temperamental on M3 MY2023 G80?

You’re the 2nd person I’ve seen post on this same issue. May be a trend for ID8.

I expect the car wash guys pressed on the display while wiping the dash and caused it to be misaligned- that would explain why readjusting its position fixed the problem...

Had this happen when my CA was showing me features of the car on delivery day. He took it back into the service area and came back in about 5 min with it working again. It's happened one time since, but came back on by itself. No idea what caused it.

Just now happened to me. No HUD anymore. I’ve had nothing but issues with this car since I’ve had it and I’m super upset. Also currently have a TPM malfunction. Guess I’ll bring this up when I’m in tomorrow for the TPM fix

somewhat related, anyone see the difference between normal HUD vs "reduced"? For me there is literally no difference. Maybe it's only when using navigation? Is the map supposed to show up in normal mode even when no destination has been input?

Yeah you need bigger content like maps to see the difference
