I feel like I asked you this before or maybe it was someone else. How long did they tell you? How many Porsches have you bought from the dealership?
It would be my first one, my Porsche ownership is resumed to the used 2018 718 GTS I baught in July and just sold. They told me 24 months and I placed the order in May 2022.

Everyone I talk to are crazy in love with there 992 GTS, it seems to really be the sweet spot.
When you say ordered one, you were actually able to get an allocation and spec it?

Every dealer I bought my Porsche from, including the 718 GT4, told me they'll just put me on the list.

A guy I know who bought three in one dealership was told 12-18 months for an allocation.

I rode in my neighbors 992 GTS and it was sublime. It is a bit more refined than my old 991.2 GTS but still has that razor sharp edge to it and the power is insane. 473 hp my ass!

No unfortunately I am only on a list with a refundable deposit and in may I was 12th, now maybe dropped 2-3 spots but here they have a good batch of allocation in November- December.

I'm fine with the delay since I have first dibs on any special BMW for now so I can have fun with these.

If you have the base model, I would still consider trading it in. If it's the GTS, absolutely not.[/QUOTE]
Interesting you mention the GTS. I'm choosing between the 992.2 GTS or M3 CS. Big plus for the 992 is 7 speed manual and that may be the clincher.

I got a M4C Cab at the beginning of summer and realized I wasn't in love with cabs as much as I have been in the past.
I agree with you, I've never driven a cab before so my 992 cab experience will be different for sure.

After thinking over the weekend, I decided call my dealer again to get on a M3 CS waiting list this morning at msrp and they told me I would be #1 on the list still.

Since I take delivery of 992 early January, I'll have enough time to test it out before the M3 CS gets here to decide if I should trade in my 992. I just hope the price isn't outrageous

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Sounds like a real first world problem to have - M3 CS vs 992.2 manual GTS. I'm leaning to the 992 as I have the DCT F87 CS and love that car. Would like something very different and hoping I can keep the M2 for the long term.

No problem, can't wait till there are new stuff coming out about the CS, still interesting to read different views in the meantime.

M3CS has a huge opportunity here.

I think BMW may step on their own toes from a technical standpoint and defend the M4CSL from a marketing one.
Was the M4CSL competing for the title of Best Overall Package?

There's nothing to "defend," the CSL is designed to do one thing, be an exciting and fast drive and it does it better than any other BMW so far. It's not designed to be an overall package.

The M5 Comp is a better "overall package" than a McLaren 765LT. What a powerful statement!

My X5M50 is a better overall package than my M4CSL too. Lol.

You've completely missed the whole point of what he meant by overall package.

Any estimate on pricing for the M3CS? I have to imagine $95K-100K to start?

Probably add $15-20k to that estimate... and that's before ADMs

Are dealers taking deposits for this? I would buy one right away if it also had rear buckets like the M5.

This would be the M3 to get if you're totally opposed to iDrive 8. You just have to pay a hefty premium for it.

Ugh - man BMW is getting lazy. Not a ton of change here over a standard comp model optioned out. I'm sure the suspension and obviously the power will be tuned under warrantly, but with past CS' at least you got a different aesthetic which was very pleasing on the hood.

What makes you think the CS will avoid iD8?
