Current PCD timeline from US port arrival

Given the restart of PCD for European mate BMWs and the changes to PCD (I.e. no free accommodation), what’s the average time to schedule PCD after your vehicle work order is closed at the VPC . The most recent data point I could reference was 25days in between. I want to believe that has changed, by the way I placed my PCD request the day my car entered 150, so very early on. Anyone have any new experience since the restart or any new data points? Thank you!!

I'm seriously considering PCD.

Especially since the place where I got the allocation is over five hours away, so PCD for an additional six hours of driving.

The flight is nothing, and the hotel will be easy since I'm Titanium at Marriott.

No free accommodation....so im assuming no more free hotel and you have to pay for an uber to and from the performance center?

From what I understand, the recommended Marriott offers a shuttle.

One extra hour of driving time? Definitely do it, it’ll be worth it.

Make sure you guys get your CA to add in PCD early on in the process as if the car moves into 151+ before PCD responds, PCD will be cancelled.

Really? Can anyone confirm this? I thought you cannot request PCD until it gets to 150, my CA told me it’s until you get to 151

You are correct. I just spoke my CA and he did confirm this. Just know that once the car hits 150 to the time it hits 151, PCD responds to your CA and gets processed during that time frame. In my case, 150 > 151 was 10 days and within that time, PCD was approved and then cancelled right after because the car went to 154 over the weekend from 151.

My CA got the cancellation email 7 mins after PCD was accepted.

You can and should request PCD as early as possible. My CA sent the email right when my order went in. PCD was confirmed at 150.

One hour would be nice. The trip to South Texas is 5hrs 15mins, plus the trip back makes the total 10hrs 30mins.

The trip from PCD to Austin is about 16hrs.

If I'm going to torture myself, I think I'd rather have a story to tell afterward.

Still, I drove 14 hours home when I picked up my G82, still worth it (and break-in will be done so much faster).

Oh it was confirmed at 150? Thought it wouldn’t be confirmed till you get to VPC, but looks like they give you a date at VPC.

I told my CA to put in the request at 150, and he said he did but now he is telling me he just requested it again at 193. How does the priority work? He is saying the date scheduling depends on when your car clears VPC not when you put in the request.

You can request even at at 193? Let us know if that works.

I didn't get a date until the car completed work order at the VPC, but my "spot" was reserved by the time the car hit 150, not sure if it happened before that or not.

So my thing is how is your spot “reserved” if they have to assign a date after you get out of VPC? Like if I cleared VPC before you but I only booked at 193, will they assign your date before mine?

Your spot is reserved when your CA gets the approval/confirmation from PCD rep that your car is going to PCD and not dealer before your car hits 151. When your car gets to VPC, that's when the actual pickup date is confirmed. This is all per my CA. I asked him if I could request PCD when I get to port/VPC and he said no.

Apparently there are 40+ EU produced cars sitting at PCD waiting for customers to pick up. Add to this all the X models that get PCD as well. Basically he told me it's a clusterf*ck and if you somehow got the PCD confirmation you are hella lucky. Take with a grain of salt as he mightve just submitted my request in late and is running me in circles because I got screwed. :/

latest bulletin (upon resumption of PCD for vehicles not built in Spartanburg) is that the request must be received and processed prior to vehicle reaching Status 151

I don't have any "official"-looking email, just a confirmation from my CA, not sure how or what he got.
