Yes. This is how the function plug and play. To separate the big blinking lights, they need to be coded like yours. And a wire needs to be run on the G82. G83, like your car, is good. 👍

I just watched that and wondered the same thing. I'm going to guess the OEM's don't. Audi's have a nice animation, I wish BMW followed suit. I assume the CSL ones don't do it. Seems like something people would post about.

Audis lighting system is so much more advanced. I agree. I also definitely haven’t seen a startup sequence.

If anyone needs the wire harness, pm me - I have an extra one to sell off (along w coding instructions) . Purchased from vd2 before it was known that the g83 doesn't need the wiring.

And CLS or the LCI part numbers are the same lamps and they work the same (had them both and tested).

Anyway they need come coding as opening ceremony and closing one are off and you get some "strobo" blinking instead.

I ordered the harness and coding from Vinyl Designs.
If I get it this week I’ll install Saturday. I’m wanting the strobe flash when turning off fixed more than the blinker seperation.

I'd have to see how this works. I haven't seen a genuine CSL set in person, yet.

On iND's G82 mod list, it was the European set (you used to be able to purchase it on their website) but clearly in that video, it's the US set.

Now only the LCI taillights are available on their website.

By the way, a local shop was able to code out the "strobo" blinking at startup. Haha much better. Like Limegrntaln said: Problem is, when you software update, you have to recode.

Anyways fast blinking means someone tried coding it , when you plug it in the turn and brakes are the same to separate the turn signal from the brake if it aint a G83 then you will need the additional wiring to the BDC Port the coding is simple to do . if you want to add the fog lamps you can as well but will need the euro fog switch so Im wondering is Poland like the USA Models ?

Yeah, first I ordered CLS oem lights and they changed them for me and said it is plug and play, no coding and wiring. And I saw that when opening the car, the whole rear lamps blinks fast like strobo instead of opening ceremony or a smooth lightning up and I said it is not right, it looked wrong.

So they said they will send a question to BMW central is there any coding needed.

Later on I saw this posts with new part numbers for LCI and ordered them as they are WAY cheaper than CSL parts. Was able to compare them with attention to detail while swapping them and I can say that they are the same.

The effect unfortunately was the same, whole lamp flashes fast blinks while turning on and off. After it it works perfectly (like 10 flashes and it is ok - so it's time used for opening or gradiend smooth startup of that light).

So they told me they know now the coding and I should come in.

After some time they called me that they need to change some wiring and it will be ready for today. WE WILL SEE, I don't like that lack of knowledge by BMW Poland.. Mine car is first to change those lamps at my dealer's.

Poland is full EU so we get separate orange blinkers and fog lamps etc as Germany. So I don't need to add anything to get EU blinkers.

Would be perfect if they could record how they start and go off as well, but when there are no videos on the internet I guess the OEM's won't have that beautiful ceremony, just smooth start

I still havent seen the "strobo" blinking at startup. There arent many real US Spec CSL videos, online.

There is some adjustment here on these lamps. The Dingolfing installers probably have a guage inserted before torque gig.

I'll try later. There is a start up strobe. Someone start up a CSL and tell us. The strobe is kinda cool.

There is some minute adjustment up/down before final inspection. The left was about 1-2mm low and I got it out good. I'll check them all out and final adjust as necessary this weekend.

That's the LED Version I have a set of real laser lights just as BMW uses lights up differently
