Got production number today

So after like 6 months of waiting. I got my production number today for M3 x-drive. It’s listed as 2023 however my dealer said it will likely be 2024 build.

Congrats.

If you have a production number, it should have an associated production week and might mostly likely a MY23.

Why would BMW drop allocations if they cannot build them. Of course this can change if your build has any production constrains or if there is any last minute issues.

Yea I am not entirely sure. They just told me that starting July it will be MY24 and this will likely be built after that.
I don’t think there will be any significant changes in MY24. So I don’t really care.
Just saying what I was told.

You should ask them your production week information and that will give an idea of the current status.

My understanding is that if you have an allocation (should be in 111 or 112 or further state), then it should be a MY23. I just passed on my April allocation for a May allocation (allocated to dealers at the end of May) as I preferred the MY24, regardless of price increase.

You are probably right. Maybe someone backed out at my dealer and they gave it to me? I didn’t ask any questions. Lol
Just said thank you.

Congrats!!!

It took two weeks from the time I got my production number until 'Track My BMW' jumped to "Scheduled for Production." I emailed my rep at this point and he gave me the production week. Just remember the production week is when the car will be completed and not when production begins. The actual build of the car will start about two weeks prior to the production week.

E.g.
I was Prod. Week 29 of 2022; 7/18 - 7/24.
Production began 7/7 and was Ready for Transport 7/19.

Call the Genius with your Prod. # and they will tell you the build week. It's most likely a 2023.

Although sometimes your Client Advisor may have more information from their other sources than Genius.

Oh and congrats

Ok so I called the genius.
You guys were correct it will be 23 model. Production is scheduled for Week 24 which will be June.
I am guessing someone at my dealer dropped the spot and they gave it to me.
I am very happy and excited!!!

BTW went with:
IOMG
Full Tartufo with carbon interior trim
Got all 3 packages (driving assist, parking, executive)
Other options: ventilated seats, laser lights, shadow line lights

That's awesome. You could see the car delivered in August. Also don't forget the Pricing, Ordering, Leasing/Purchasing, Delivery sub forum. It helped with the wait by chatting with others with the same/similar build weeks.
