You got black and white as the 2 other choices for the CSL

Unless someone knows for a fact that won't be the case.

M5 CS you could change, request had to be made with a form.

The 50 Jahres locked quick.

CSL was open for a bit, but if you chose Frozen Brooklyn Grey, it did lock quickly.

Time will tell with the "Special Model" M3 as they have not hit the DAR

I really hope they have other good color choices. For me I’d still go with dravit grey but maybe this time in frozen grey if they offered it with bronze wheels.

CSL allocations came out the day after announced but production numbers were out at the same time. We don’t have “special model” m3 production numbers yet.

yes, process is different as there are no allocations, thus no production numbers

While I’m a white car fanatic, I think either of those colors will look great on the CS. IMO, AW is the best color on the CSL.

I was really hoping for Frozen Dark Grey or Frozen Green color. I am not excited about Signal Green but I hope it would grow on me and I end up liking it.

I think it might grow on you. Years ago I hated it, but once I started seeing it more, I fell in love with it. Probably my favorite individual color now.

Are these allocations different from what the link dealers supposedly were given to spec? Still unclear whether this special model configuration thing was "the" allocation

The "special model" link is the CS. Whether the dealer just gets shipped what they specified, or if they get a production number they can change before it locks, is anyone's guess.

But the "special model" isn't some different car, as someone said their regional rep suggested. Thats just "pre-embargo toeing the company line" type of talk.

Something to consider. MT just name the previous CS one of the top 10 worst depreciating cars which I found interesting.

2019 BMW M4
Price decrease from 12 months ago: 32.7%
CS models of the M4, which were sold in the U.S. for 2019 and 2020, depreciated the most, from an original price of $103,100. The 2019 CS is now the more affordable option, but 2020s have also decreased in value nearly as much, by 32.1 percent.

This is why there is no M4 CS as of now (just the CSL), and why the M3 CS is AWD and will likely be even more limited. BMW clearly doesnt' want to flood the market even though it could, as they've learned from the depreciation those cars experienced.

However, i think MT is overstating it.

A good amount of M4CS were made but still has me thinking whether the market/public see these cars as just another very expensive trim level.

Pictures of the car that I've showed around get a response along the lines of "reminds me of a (insert recent American muscle car here)". Not sure if the "meh" attitude plays into it

No offense to anyone, all those options were better than black and white. Remember there was like a plain silver M5 CS spy photo at one point, that wouldn't have worked well either.
