6MT Owners - Does anyone use the Automatic Start/Stop?

I never use this feature, but was wondering if anyone else does. I feel like I'm not wasting that much gas when at a stop light due to being in neutral anyway.

Nope. I didn't buy this car for its fuel economy.

it saves little and I would rather not ever need to replace the starter

No. I let it do it's thing in my '13 328 years ago, but I didn't like it and never used it on the three cars since.

No. But I do like that the default setting seems to have this feature off vs my other cars the default is on.

No. I actually forgot it even has it until just the other day. I didn't use it on my previous 335i, either. The manual made it easy to avoid in that car, at least how I drive. I think it's turned off in my G80 6MT from my delivery day setup/demo.

Tried it briefly but did not like it to continue. Like others, would have went in another direction if fuel economy was that important of an issue.

The default is last value.

LOL, ain't that the truth!

I do confess to occasionally using it (letting it turn off the engine) if I'm at a light that I know will be long, and it's not hot (i.e. need the A/C). Some of the traffic lights on my commute are over 2 minutes long (yes, I've timed them) and that's just ridiculous.

But overall, I suspect that in the long run, shortening the starter life will be more costly than the gasoline saved.

Has anyone noticed any issues with their starter after using it for a while? I've been using it with my last two cars (auto and DCT) with no issues.

It doesn't really bother me as I know how to manipulate it with the brakes. Leaves more gas in the tank for when I floor it.

This feature worked surprisingly well on my 340i 6MT, but I basically never used it. I don't think constantly shutting off and starting the engine is good for it or the starter.
