Yes black 826M isn't available at the moment for some reason

It's either that or it's stock said the dealer, which I doubt
Base on the ordering guide, 826M is default to Xdrive M3s

Yup. It's holding my order up right now.
Now wondering if this is what is holding up my dealership from getting me a production number. Was told they put my order in (I optioned the 826M in Black) and that they are just waiting for it to be accepted.

They didn't mention any specific item that was causing a delay or issue from it switching to having a production number. 🤔

I totally get not paying above the MSRP but what dealer would give you a discount on a vehicle that if they wait 10 more minutes for the next walk-in will get full MSRP? It doesn’t make any sense at all. Back in 2015 at a Rolex AD they would always have submariner‘s sitting in the case and you could get a discount on one if you knew how to. Now there is a three year wait list and they would laugh at you if you asked because there’s 462 people right behind you that will pay full MSRP. So if I own a BMW dealership and my salesman Tony gives Mr. Johnson a discount on a vehicle I could sell 15 times in one week at full MSRP to others I would think Tony won’t be around for much longer.

I offered MSRP for a car that was 90% of my desired config. They wanted $10k over. The GSM asked to meet somewhere in the middle and I refused. That was 3 weeks ago. The cars are still there.
That’s really too bad a dealership can get away with that. You could be in the car right now. Perhaps he will call you soon. Although I don’t blame you if you told him where to go at this point. He better get what he can get for them before the economy crashes. That’s coming soon and I imagine there won’t be too many M3’s sold after that.

We've never had a pandemic with supply shortages in modern history. This changes everything.

Also in my personal situation I live in an area that does little to no discounts in a normal year without shortages. I think we're in for MSRP for the long haul.
That's good logic and justifies your decision a s it's reasonable. But paying $10K markup knowing that you can get a discount over MSRP in a few months is illogical.
This is a two decade old behavior. It will continue.
Sadly it will. But those that have been here for decades know better.

To clarify, MSRP is 100% justifiable. But people should consider paying $10-$15K mark up.

In fact, pay me half of the mark up and i'll get you ab MSRP allocation 👌

Guide I saw said, 1T8 is standard. Which is a 826M, but is multi colored. We want all black.

That's what I've been told, the sooner in october, the latter in december.
Hopefully in the meanwhile chip shortage gets better and I could add Surround View and Wireless Charging (curently not available in Spain).

Just to clarify

there seems to be a little confusion out there so I figured I would clarify the best I can here for anyone who is interested

there is a such thing as a FLEX allocation. That is where a dealer can change a rear wheel drive model to a AWD model up to a certain status of a allocation. However given the demand and the supply issues with the M3/M4 I seriously doubt BMW will allow dealers to do that with these, otherwise dealers would all flex them. At this time we dont have the exact answer on those but our guys are looking into it.

and finally as we all know but just incase we dont, you can't swap a base model allocation for a comp model allocation.

and like I always tell everyone, if you have a allocation you will get a production number, no production number no allocation

Me too. Back then only SS Daytona’s could not be gotten at a discount. Today is very different.

Surround view was available here in italy, but not the wireless charging when I've ordered it last friday. If I would have choosen the wireless charging, the expected delivery was late october.

I was told a normal car would be October but as ours in individual order could be November or December. We are getting the dealers first allocation though.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing then... but I'm not sure why Canada and US will have different stock wheels since it's not helping to ease up production logistics
