It's amazing how well his personality comes through in his writing. It's almost like watching a video. Very refreshing.

If a car doesn't give you the giggleshits when you drive it a little crazy, it's the wrong car.

I've literally just been streaming old Top Gear episodes. Rewatching those and reading this just confirms to me that he is by far and away, the best automotive journalist ever. You may not like him, but he is the best and I sorely miss watching his stuff.

When he says "the end is nigh" he's absolutely right...it's quite depressing.

Anyone know if the seats were the standard or CF bucket seats that he's referring to as the best he's ever sat in?

Hard to say, I feel like all the press cars had the CF seats but given his size I'm almost certain he would have said something about being fat and struggling to get in and out. As he has said in the past with other cars with bucket seats.

They do this on their drivetribe YouTube channel. Drivetribe is owned by the trio.

Every once in awhile I’ll read a piece that makes me miss actually having to sit down and write something. Anything.

This is one of those pieces.

Sucks UK is getting cut short of the manuals, considering euro markets prefer that

Do they? When I owned my M2 and frequented those forums I'm pretty sure the European manual take rate was miniscule compared to North America which was close to 50%.

In glad he said "Pontiac style nose" as every time I see a black one I see my dad's black 1972 Firebird Formula he drove when I was in elementary. The one with the double hood scoops coming to the front of the hood.

Seems Jeremy really has just defaulted to writing tropes about "lazy millennials" like all the other decrepit old boomers these days.

The irony is it that majority of G80 M3 buyers (and TG/grand tour audience) these days are millennials?

It's interesting because yes, the statistical take rate on manuals was highest in North America, particularly for the M2 variants fo the F8X platform. The DCT was more popular in Europe generally. I am not sure about exact numbers for UK vs. the continent. I think I remember Germany as a country with one of the highest DCT take rates on the M2...but that's a vague memory a couple years old. I'd think the UK may be a little different. That said, one has to wonder if there is a post-EU emissions difference which makes offering two variants cost prohibitive. I'd think not, but I know that is an issue with manuals offered in the US.
