I am pointing out the stupidity of hiding something that's already been seen.

Love the width it has from looking at the rear. Pity that it still sounds awful. The N54is cars sounded fantastic for a twin turbo 6 cylinder. Shame BMW can't get the M3 to do the same.

That subtle controllable rear end drift. That what we loved about BMWs.
I'm glad it is coming back.

Yeah, not sure why if the low level of tune of the N54 ( 8.8 psi boost vs the 18 psi of the S55 ) has anything to do with it.

The massive grille looks so much better in camo with the cut through the middle. Not as offensive. Holding out hope that the final product will read better.

It's definitely not the boost. My N54 was tuned to 15 PSI of boost and the only thing that changed the exhaust note is my BMW performance exhaust. Without the exhaust it sounds like a standard N54.

N54is models had their own upgraded exhaust over the stock models. The N54 actually sounds similar to the S55 with that PE exhaust and that's probably where they got the inspiration for the S55 exhaust. The change in baffling in the exhaust is my guess to the sound difference between the N54 and S55.

The burbles, or farts as some of us call it (idk why I love the burbles lol), are from the tune (overrun values for fuel trim are changed) although the exhaust can cause a few small burbles (my PE added a little burble)

Let me be absolutely clear.
There is no going back in regards to "re-working" the Grille design for THE 4/i4 and M3/M4.
The Tooling and production set-up are already prepared to accommodate the new models.
They will head to production as they are.

The fact that you need to keep re-stating this must frustrate you to no end.

I'm sure it is. I almost want the car(s) and the LCI's to come and go already so we can get over this grille topic and onto other stuff.

+1

But I'll just be happy to see the production M3 in person as it's still top of the list as my next car end of 2020. I honestly think it'll look great, unique & aggressive like SCOTT26 has been saying

Let's be honest, BMW seems pretty committed to big grills for future vehicles. While an LCI may fix many aspects of the grill, it will still be big and bold, and controversial enough that I still think many Bimmerpost members will be divided on the looks of the future M3/4 series before and after the LCI.

Give this thread one or two more pages and Scott's post will be forgotten...again(again). Gotta love the internet.

The new M3, looks pretty slammed to the ground. Some people are saying that the variants will all come out at the same time. Pure, Comp, CSL, GTS. Would be interesting to get a CSL.

I think it has been confirmed that all new models trim if available will be regular(M), Competition, CS and CSL.

GTS trim will not be produced.

Somebody asked me what car does the new M3 emulate in terms of a more broader and muscular stance rather than refined and understated?
My answer would be the Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrofoglio. Look who broader that is especially at thewheel arches and how low it's planted to the ground.
Plus they also have big tall Grilles.

I'd rather have it drive like a Giulia QF than look like one, but I doubt it will match the Giulia in terms of handling/driving dynamics.

I somehow hilariously find this extremely relatable to the grill situation as well as how a good 90% of us reacted.
