But the M2 has a different demographic. Your average 2/3 series buyer isn't considering the M2.

Regardless of M2 demographic, it's the regular 2er that's going to dictate size of the M2. Much like the G80...I'm sure buyers would rather a smaller more nimble M3 but they have the G20 platform to contend with.

The proportions are looking good. Felt the current gen looked a bit squished.

rear quarter doesn't look at pronounced but the front fender flares look nice.
The grills don't look as tall obviously as the g80 but they appear to also be comically large, probably akin to what they look like on the m135i - I wonder how much inspiration it will take from that car.

I'm praying the M2 isn't ugly because it sure appears promising! Just make sure we can fit two sets of golf clubs in the trunk BMW!

Love the front fenders, shame they never made a proper 4-door version of the 2-series.

Agree, the M2 does not need to grow at all in size, but it does need a diet. The backseat is easily fine for in a pinch or short rides and the M3/4 are always available for those needing a larger cabin. They need to focus on making the M2 remain the enthusiasts choice, especially since the M3 has drifted away from that title. I actually think the current power figures are also fine and don't need to be increased but they likely will anyways. What I would love is some weight loss, improve the steering, and soften the ride just a tad bit while still keeping the playful and engaging dynamics from the current M2.

From these latest photos, it looks like they are going with a staggered diameter wheel setup. Do you know why they are doing this in general? Like the G8x has that too.

I can't tell because of the black brakes, but are they going with the floating caliper out back like the G series or are they sticking to more of a performance brake setup like the F87?
