I didn’t say there aren’t any, just that most dealers won’t bother.

Currently there are 13 CPO M3s nationwide wide, and 17 M4s. Vs 365 used M4 and 171 used M3 (MY: 2021-current, data from cars.com).

Exactly right. I never see a CPO M with the exception of an occasional M8 GC.

I’ve checked out a few non cpo ones at the dealers and both say by the time they add CPO they are very close to new pricing so they don’t typically CPO M cars. They focus on buying or taking in good examples.

I’ve been looking for awhile. As another poster pointed out, hardly any CPOs nation wide and an even smaller pool for non comp manuals. I found 2 close by, could tell the first one wasn’t taken care of by an enthusiast. Late by nearly 1k miles on the m break in service, but otherwise a nice car in good shape. Left enough doubt in my head and the dealer was annoying to work with as well.

Currently debating a 21’ with 14xxx miles. Carbon pkg , executive pkg, black wheels. Only issue is it’s SPY paint. I dig it, my wife doesn’t and I am thinking it may draw too much attention. The car was flawless though.. service records perfect oil changed right at 5k miles each time etc. Paint and interior are pristine. I have found zero blemishes when scouring over the car for awhile. I can tell this car is pampered. So with the limited nation wide inventory with my ocd level I’m really contemplating the car even though it’s not my top paint choice . I think I could get it for a solid price.

My final option is to get in line for a 25.. it will easily be 10-15k more.. I can afford that, but it’s a bit more than I want spend for a “toy” car. I would have piece of mind from day 1 though. 4 years of warranty and ability to spec if exactly how I want. I’m sure the wait will be around 9-10 months.

Decisions..

I would buy the SPY and then wrap it a different color.

I am on the same boat as you. I want a manual MY25. I think it’s going to be around 82-84k sticker and I am thinking of going with an individual paint. There are around 50 used stick shifts (based on Autotrader and carmax) nationwide with lower miles. Monthly payments range from 800-1000 a month. Trying to wrap my head around that amount is for one crazy. Historically paid cash or had next to nothing in car payments. Used ones haven’t depreciated enough to put a dent in a payment especially since interest rates are high. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yea this is the main reason I went for new instead of PO. I missed out on a lightly used 6MT BRG/Tartufo manual that went CPO for a non-individual MSRP price. If/unless I found one similar, I was going new since 95% of dealers are not selling used for under sticker if you're looking at 22+ with low miles.

I've always bought low miles used but with the current market prices and rates, I'd prefer New for the M3 just because I know I'll be keeping atleast 4 years.

They have depreciated the living shit out of these cars. My 22 G82 xDrive w/ 16,800 miles was $117k msrp, w/ tax and tags. I looked at selling it in May of 2023, so, last year, and the dealers were offering me $61k-$67k. I just went last month to get service done, they offered me $71k.

They offer you 71K and will try and sell it to someone like me who is in the market for something in the 80’s
For what I need and want I am at low 80’s msrp speced the way I want.

I would be giving the car away, at that point. The dealer plugs the VIN into the trade in page, and it spits out the number. I have at least another $20k in OEM catalog accessories on the car. All of the carbon is OEM, as are the $7,000 wheel and tires. They just sold an M2. Not even an M4. with the same amount of options, for $115k. I have about $140k in mine. OEM CSL taillights are on the fedex truck as we speak.

Yep.. it’s absolutely wild. These things depreciate a decent amount off the lot. I’ve never leased always been a finance guy and hold the car for awhile , but I may just lease this time. Either way it’s expensive with no real incentive to either.

Throwing 30k cash down on used and financing the rest not sure I’d get the money out of it I’d like to 3-4 years down the road.

I’m military and just found out about the military bmw discount rebate which will help. The car I’ve spec’d is about 81k so any rebate (cca , mil) will help the cause vs buying used.

I may still pull the trigger as the discount at least on the one I’ve found is significant enough vs buying new. All due to color I think.

I’ve contemplated it, but a rough quote puts that car close enough (within 5-6k of new ) that I’d just go that route.

Your M4 is stunning! Trust me I get it. As someone that had multiple generations of BMW’s, modded them and owned a dealership, it’s a bitter pill. If you are in the market to sell, my two cents, turn the car to stock and sell parts separately. You will almost never recoup the addon’s even if you sell it to someone like me, that would practically do the same mods. I have had similar issues with items like motorcycles, boats, jet skis, watches, etc

M4’s aren’t holding their value nearly as well. But part of this is a function of your MSRP…. how did you get to $117k back in 22 MY? Guessing you ticked all the boxes… share your sticker or build

It was $117k with tax and tags. Every option except buckets and the carbon exterior got missed. I went back to add the carbon exterior, and my car had gone to 150 status already. I had to add all of the OEM carbon after delivery, so, that stuff didn’t make it on the window sticker. I’m too fluffy for the buckets, so, that was never happening.

Beautiful car. The dealer won’t compensate you for all the mods or taxes or tags, so they’re just looking at 102 v 70. Might get more if you sell it directly to someone else. That’s a ton of mods - 911 territory with the total cost figure.

Hope you’re enjoying it!

Yeah, that’s where I got handled. None of the OEM carbon is on the window sticker. The front lip, side skirts, rear winglets and MP HAS, BMW 1000M wheels, are all port installed options now.

It would have been nice to get all of that on the window sticker. When I ordered the car in 2021, none of that was known, either. And the suspension springs weren’t even out yet. But I’m having a good time for sure. I just drove it yesterday. Still looks and smells brand new inside. That full merino is like putting an Italian leather jacket on every time you sit in it.

I almost skipped it. But I went with my gut about checking every box. And the car is well capable, stock, with just the M Drivers Package. Pesky speed governor gone.

I’ve posted this elsewhere but,

I was going to get a new 2024. Last August, I came across my manual 2022 which was spec’ed how I would except for exterior color (I like the PB, but I was going individual). Car had 1300 miles, CPO, maintenances package, tint, ppf (I added more) and M Perf carbon front spoiler.

Original MSRP was about $84k. I paid $81k including dealers fees, tax, lic. Same new 2024 MSRP would be about $92-93.

I would think even better deals would be available now?
