EBC blue stuff issues
I have had EBC blue stuff for 3000 miles and haven’t really had any problems at all. The only problem I had was some wheel vibration after some spirited driving / braking. Today the whole car was shaking and I was feeling as if the brakes were kicking in on their own during hard acceleration. This is with all driving assistance off. I looked at the rotors and this is what they look like. I really just want to know if this is normal, or did something go wrong on install I never notice or is this an issue with the pads

Did you follow this procedure when you first got them?

Not normal. Try rebedding the pads again and see if the pad transfer layer is more uniform and with less heat spotting. It may take more time driving (braking) on the pads before all of the spots are removed.

They look glazed. You can clean them up by using sand paper to remove the glazing. You likely got the pads too hot too fast and exceeded their temperature limit. The pads are salvageable.

I have the EBC blues on mine for about 4k kms now strictly spirited street use and they are working very well. I also have upgraded turbos on flex fuel tune. Loving that the cold bite is noticeably better than stock and when it's heated up with back to back WOT pulls, it brakes light years better over stock. Curious was yours used on the track?

The way I use the breaks and the way I use this car, it’s constantly like im on the track, so I’m suprised these brakes didn’t holdup, I’m going to contact ebc and hope we can work something out

that makes sense as to why the rotors look like that. Did reverting back to stock pads fix the problem? I can't imagine the stock pads can handle brake temps better than the bluestuff. Also you may want to look into upgraded rotors like the EBC 2 piece floating ones

Doesn't sound like you've ever been on a track if you think you can drive on the street like that.

I am keen to hear what EBC has to say about this. Did you experience better braking bite and performance with your EBC blues as compared to the stock pads?

The stock pads are actually a fantastic hybrid pad for street and "canyon" driving, even on track. They'll wear quicker but certainly better than this. Get new pads or reinstall install the stock ones. I wouldn't reuse those pads even if you cleaned them up. I would also take some very fine grit sandpaper and gently rub the hot spots, followed by wiping down the rotors with towels.
