I'm not sure what they suggest, but I want them to at least make sure the car isn't going to wear the tires pre-maturely. I've seen spring installs trash a new set of tires in 500 miles. And the SV is like 2 hours, each way, from me.

True! There's no shop near sac (that you trust)? Lol might as well get it done at the same time just to mitigate that risk!

Yeah, nothing out here. Sad I have to drive 2 hours, one way, to trust someone.

We have a few Bay area customers that make the trip down here for the same reason. They know their //M is being taken care of and at a fair price.

Don't tempt me. If you guys want to do
Some B roll on the first set in the country, and a little discount, to offset my gas a little, I may even just take a drive.

I hear ya. I used to go to LA only to have everything done in the e90 days. NorCal is always tough to find a good consistent shop.

These are the fitting instructions, for the G80/ G82 M Performance HAS kit. No special programming is required.

Just posting this here, to add information to the thread for others. See attached PDF for complete instructions The instructions are from the UK, they are the same, but I'm posting this, here, until I get my hands on the US instructions. (PDF doesn't show up if you're viewing on a mobile device)

So there is no adjustment to the EDC then?

Apparently, there is some chassis coding, but, it's general coding that our cars already have. Apparently my car is on a newer code, already. Not the latest code, but the very latest code wouldn't make much of a difference.

Maybe freshxdough can explain it a little better than I can. But from what I'm understanding, it's not EDC dampening recoding.

There is no coding/programming related to the actual suspension. The repair instructions only advise "coding/programming to latest available". A general recommendation for some M Performance retrofit repairs. Your repair instructions state this on the first page.

Correct. Just getting clarification, to make sure I understood what you'd told me, correctly.

The confusion stems from the rumor that BMW actually released a software update, that would adjust the dampening curve, to compensate for the change in spring rate, but according to the instructions, that information isn't correct.

I have been reading this thread since few days ago because of the commotion on availability, coding requirement, who made it, etc.

Because of this thread, I have been getting a lot of questions and phone calls.

Posting something without complete information do confuse people.

So, to clarify, based on my experience installing it on F90 M5.

- It is made by KW based on BMW M Performance spec.
- No coding required on the EDC. Coding is to re-calibrate the headlight aim, which can be done manually.
- Drop wise, not as much as KW HAS or MSS on F90 M5.

But, I am intrigued to collect some data out of it.
So, Limegrntaln , let me know if you want to drive down for the weekend and get it going.
I have many customers driving down as far as 20 hours away.

There is no information proving that there is some updated damping curve. But if there was, it's not specific to the HAS kit and would be a general update to all cars.

RG, I apologize for the confusion. I'll update the OP and try to remove some of the back and forth from my post, so people coming to the thread don't have a bunch of questions they need to call people about.

The kit is available. BMW originally had 70 sets in the system, and as of yesterday, that number has dwindled down to the low 40s. You just have to be crafty ordering them, as the parts counter told me they were "currently" as of this post, blocked from the dealer being able in the US.

And, unfortunately, if I'm driving 450 miles, to LA, to get my car worked on, I'm bringing the old lady for a park hopper to Disneyland, or I'm not going. That's already been established.

I would just want to do a turn and burn, not spend 2-3 days and hundreds/ thousands of dollars at Americas Favorite theme park.

You and I have been talking on the side--- if you can not find a place you trust, the one time drive down and up is worth with Ben. I know there are complaints about every single set up but it "appears" that almost all are due to install issues.

Come down, see Ben, see Mickey- go home. Do it during the week to avoid the insane crowds.

Of course thats if you come south; dont be a number be a customer

I don't have any problem coming down to LA for a turn and burn, but I don't think I'm going to be able to make it down there, without making it a Clark Griswold trip.

YOLO. Go have fun at the house of mouse and get your MP HAS installed.

I don't mind going to DL, but when I want to get something done, I have a one track mind. I just want to get the car done. I can't have a good time thinking about getting my car done the whole time I'm down there.
