Wondering if these will fit or are too big.

This design is inefficient at the rear most attachment to the strut tower. The section simultaneously steps down in thickness, bends and twists, necessitating a complex out-of-plane set of cross beams connecting to the forward main cross member that attaches to the front of the strut tower. These details result in a less stiff primary connection and a less triangulated design. Primary load path should be just tension and compression in the three main cross members to limit the lateral out-of-plane motion of the strut towers; however, this design results in local secondary bending and torsion in all three cross members at the strut tower interfaces. Local bending and torsion of rectangular cross sections adds significant compliance to the design. Other CF strut tower designs do not have, nor require, these details. There appears to be no interference issues with other engine bay components. Inefficient and unnecessarily complex structural design.

Form over function design. I made zero comments about its aesthetics. The CF engine cover, CF intake and CF strut tower brace look great together. However, the strut tower brace is a functional structural design that connects the two strut towers and the front engine bay bracket to keep things square so its overall stiffness is important.

Sadly, it’s on one of the aftermarket parts that can have a measurable effect on chassis stiffness and, therefore, handling. Easy way to see its effect on stiffness is to unbolt the brace while the car is on the ground, then unload the tires by using a lift to raise the car off the ground (lifting only one corner with a floor jack works too) and, now, try reinstalling the mounting bolts. You can’t because the mounting holes on the chassis and strut tower brace are now misaligned. This misalignment on the e46 M3 was huge and it used only a simple single strut bar between strut towers to minimize deformation. New designs like the G82 oem CSL triangulated design (and the F8x oem CF U shaped brace) is used to add significant stiffness to the strut towers and engine bay to keep things square. The Dinan CF tower brace does absolutely add stiffness but it could be stiffer with minor changes to the strut tower bar main cross beam geometry at and near the rear strut tower interface.

Bringing this back from the dead. Anyone have this installed and can speak to its effectiveness in terms of handling improvements? Any differences compared to stock?
