Chrono9084 So I did a lot of annotating photos and it's too cumbersome to load individually into the thread so I just uploaded it into a google doc that I linked below.
In short you'll need a good set of panel tools. Something like this will work
https://www.amazon.com/LivTee-Remova...9GERBZ3NH&th=1
A drill and small drill bit for 4 pilot holes
A Philips screwdriver for the windscreen install
A 13mm socket/socket wrench for the ground bolt.

Hope this helps, It's not a terribly hard install but I tried my best to hide wiring as best as possible for the cleanest install I could get.

Good luck and I'm happy to help answer any other questions you might have.

I wanted to thank you all again for the help and guidance! Tomorrow I fly out to Boston and take delivery of my first true M car!

I get a nice 21 hour drive ahead of me with my break in service happening about 2/3 of the way home. Got everything scheduled.

I'll probably make a post and post some pictures during my trip if I have the energy. Again, thank you for the help!

Awesome and congrats!! One question though . . . what's your tire situation for that long cold-weather drive?

Got a set of continental extreme contacts being put on it at 430 today and have cases for the summers.

Finally made it home.....man was that an experience. Going to make a post about it this weekend. I'll just say that if you read about the first tornado in February ever in Wisconsin, let's just say that the same weather system tried to ruin my trip.

If it ever does seem to cause wear worst case I can take it to a friend who repairs vehicle leather and he'd probably be able to fix it for relatively reasonable cost. It just works so well as a rear mount that I feel like it's worth the small rubbing/contact. Now how it works compared to the actual windscreen, I don't know. I've never even used the OEM one but the bufffeting is nothing like other convertibles I've driven so it definitely seems to make a difference.
She's pretty and that's a fantastic deal. Strong work sir!!
yocubed Just got home last night, about to put your awesome guide to use and get the rear windshield and dashcam installed. One question for you, what made you decide to put the rear dashcam on the outside of the glass rather than the inside?

No real reason I guess. I think my thinking was that I wanted it as close to the rear as I could get and since I'd have the top up pretty much all the time when parked then it would be a bit closer to the rear window glass without going through another pane of glass. Honestly it probably doesn't make any difference mounted in front or behind the windscreen

Thanks! One more question for you.

My old setup in the M340 used a 20amp jumper...i cant recall which fuse I used but it did work as intended with parking mode. I am going to try to find the old post I used as reference but do you know of a 20amp fuse that I could potentially use?

Based on your picture, the fuse you used was much smaller and I dont really want to modify the wiring that I have already.

You could try F218 (circled in blue below) it's a 20amp fuse nearby. Not sure if that bank of fuses turns off immediately with the car but it might since it's close to the one I used F207 (circled in red for reference)

F218 is a blank I think. The fuse feels incredibly loose when I slot it in and no power comes through when the car turns on.

Do you know what 219 is for? It's a 20amp. It looks really close to where I had this connected in my M340.

Finally found it. F273 is what I used in the M340.
