The wagon wouldn't sell that well here in the U.S. and BMW knows it.

Man everyone is preaching the same thing. LOL

It ain't happening, everyone cries about wanting high performance variants and when the manufacturer brings it state side (e.g manual transmission E60 M5, Audi RS) NO ONE in the US buys it's all talking the talk. No one does the walk. I bet most of y'all that wants this wagon, maybe 1% is actually going to buy one.

So stop kidding yourself, BMW needs to make money not lose money for the <5% of the general public that would buy this touring.

The Panny GT starts in the high 90s. The G81 maybe mid 80s. Many here expressed that they are willing to pay a big premium above that.

My dentist drives a GT Turbo and got $20k off msrp so while the G81 will come with a premium (very limited production) the Panny will likely have a discount.

Again, wagons look good and all but they don't sell when the rubber hit the dealer lot.
Except the picture you posted is not a normal Panamera GT, it's the TechArt Grand GT. Which according to this article costs $300,000.

They've done market research on how many internet posters that say they'd 10000% buy a manual/wagon/whatever that actually do to be 0.1%

I wonder whether BMW will also add a premium for the M-Steptronic (or whatever it's called), or whether they will consider that a no-cost option and just keep around the $7k for the competition.

For the european 3-series models where the 6MT still exists along with the ZF8, the latter costs 2350 EUR more than the 6MT.

If Audi found a business case for a $110,000 RS6 Avant in the USA then BMW got to find one for a $70,000 M3 Touring.

Add to that the 1000 unit limitation and you may get 200 over here, dealers will mark them up.

In the end I think mid 80s is a low estimate.
The amount of units planned changes really fast when customer demand is present, if this comes to the US they will be trying to sell as many as possible including RWD/6MT that is about to start production in December on the sedan version. I think if it comes to the US it will come with 6MT.

xDrive and Auto Only. As I said Previously target market is the predominately European countries that have heavy winters but a wide range of winter activity such as Austria,Italy,Switzerland etc.
Where you see Performance wagons outside ski centres, hotels and chalets. And No one wants to row gears especially in winter.

If we can get it to the US market, a market that values manual transmissions, then it seems likely a manual could be offered. Why not ask, as (M) enthusiasts? As for driving in the snow.... I drive this in the winter since BMW will not make a fun 6MT/AWD.

I hopped on this (futile) train ride per the petition link... not that I have any hope. Anyhow I would be one of the seven or so NA customers. It would be great for hauling my kayak plus hot wagons are cool.
