I just received an email from my CA.

"To date, there are thousands of vehicles, NATIONALLY, that are being held up in this stop sale.

BMW is working feverishly on all vehicles. They are aware of the inconveniences this has created, though not intentional. Your patience and understanding is very important at this time. Your vehicle will be delivered here 100% healthy and ready for ownership. They have not released a timeline at this time, and in fairness, probably will not. They are getting to these as efficiently as possible. "

Unfortunately I believe we all know and understand this point. I think most people's frustration and curiosity is why the order of who gets what fixes is just completely out of whack. Why do people with the exact same stop sale wait months and months while a car that just came in a week ago gets the part instead.

If you don't get lucky and get fixed in the first wave of parts after you car arrives it seems as though your car gets pushed to the back of the lot and forgot about

Unfortunately not really. Stop sales aren't the only thing done at the ports. At the VPC, vehicles go through final assembly, are processed, inspected for damage, and repaired if necessary. There are also options that are installed at the port rather than the factory. Most of the M Performance items, like the exhaust and some carbon bits are port installed. If they don't have these parts in stock, it's not a stop sale, but they do need to wait until they arrive before the car ships.
