It makes sense for BMW to consolidate their lineup of coupes. Mercedes and Audi have basically done the same/are in the process of doing the same. I only really see the 2 series surviving due to the success of the M2

Wait, are they implying a V8 can go into that new 6 series?
If so, then i know what i'm getting next after this M3C lease lol. Well, i might have to do one more lease before that time lol |

I wonder if 6 series will take the 4 series grandcoupe, while allowing the 4 series 2 door to remain. Possibly the 4 series 2 door will go back into the 3 series lineup? Kind of odd for BMW to make the M4 from the 4 series, while traditionally a two door M car of that size would be the M3, only to change it 10 years later.

I like this consolidation. Its a small step towards going back to the original segmentation of models. There are way to many models now

They can charge more for a 6 badge than a 4 badge. They can also put a V8 in emissions permitting. Would be interesting to force M buyers into the m5 and m6 price range. Might as well, people are paying big markup on the m3 now.

Should also note, that M3 customers are not M5/6/8 customers. Similar to Honda fanboys, the M3 as a car has a solid fanbase, of which I am a part of. I’m not an M customer, I’m an M3 customer. |

There is a large market for the M4 who could not or would not afford the M6. Rumors are rumors, but it all drives great publicity. Marketing A1. Drive publicity and analyse feedback over a period of time.
