Taking delivery question

I ordered a G82 M4 Comp earlier this year. The car arrived at the dealer last week and now I'm having second thoughts after reevaluating the monthly lease payment. I never signed an order form or any documents at the dealer. Can I step back from the deal or am legally bound in any shape or form?

You'd be out your deposit, but you are under no legal obligation to buy the car.

Zero reason for them to be out of a deposit. If the dealership won’t refund then do a charge back on the credit card.

So what's the deal? Monthly and DAS they are quoting you. To have another data point in your area.

Depends on how he gave the deposit. If he gave a check or cash he's probably out. Almost every dealer in the country will refund a deposit for an order as long as the car hasn't gone into production.

I'd consider yourself lucky if you can get the car back after the order has been delivered/gone into production.

For cars on the lot, yeah you should be able to easily get your deposit back.

These cars aren’t just sitting on the lot for weeks/months at a time and the dealer should have zero problems moving it. No reason for them not to refund a deposit regardless of how it was paid for. If they refuse, I’d recommend speaking with the general manager. If they still refuse, a few bad online reviews should help sway them.

Depends on the car, the time of the month, the quotas, numbers, everything really. Dealer don't care about bad reviews.

I'd say pushing it a bit with the general manager is your best bet, but these orders, with allocations limited, even worse if it were a G80, dealers don't want to get stuck with a weird order they may not be able to sell.

Especially with this order being a G82, they're sitting on lots more than ever now. My local dealer has had a certain G82 on the lot for more than a month now.

No such thing as a non refundable deposit , most state laws don't allow it.
But YMMV

Your in California... Likely, did you agree to anything written via a text or email about the deposit ? Check/cash or credit card deposit? Is this a custom order? One can always walk from the car but the deposit even against state law may not be if you agreed to it being non refundable.

What's the issue with the lease payment?

Additionally, when you ordered did you do a credit app and lock the rate? When was this as the MF has damn near doubled let alone normal car loan rates?

If you locked you can request a waiver to the 120days.
