Trying to see my car while I'm living in Munich (USA dealer order)

Hi All,

Just got my G80 allocation for week 44!

I work for a company called Allianz, which is a big financial services company based in Munich - very close to the BMW factory.

I will be working and living in Munich for 2 months starting October 1 (I'm normally based in L.A.) I will be there when the car finishes production, according to the build week.

Does anyone know if there is ANY way that I can go to the factory to see the car during (or after) its manufacture?

Any ideas?

The Welt offers tours of the Munich factory that you can sign up for on their website. If you’re lucky, you might be able to time it so the tour passes by the assembly hall at the same time your car is there. But, unless you know someone, I don’t know of any way to get a personal tour to your own vehicle. The EU delivery program is also gone now, so no picking up a NA car from the Welt anymore.

I stopped there during my M3’s build week (wk. 29), but didn’t have time for a tour. Went to the museum and enjoyed the trip.

Great pics. Looks awesome. Will definitely tour the Welt at the very least.

The M3 got a lot of attention when i was there! I don’t know the color, but you might be able to zoom into the display board next to the car in the photo?

Looks like skyscraper grey, to my eyes. Very dynamic color in different lighting.

^^You could be right, as it’s less ‘glossy’ than SSG! Good eye!

Yes that's definitely a Frozen color. I saw it there in June, but none of my photos captured the display card clearly.

Unless you’re a celebrity or “influencer” you won’t be able to see your car being bulky, but as others have said, maybe you can time the tour and get lucky.
