I guess I’m assuming that that allocation wasn’t converted too?

Happy for Samgaudreau and definitely gives me hope, but why are my24 allocations getting built before my23 converts with buckets?

Is it not a first in first out policy?
Exactly. I’m just referring to MY24 allocations. It seems like the success rate for MY24 is good, no? It may be pure irrational conjecture, but I think I’ve read only good news for owners of MY24 bucket orders (aside from one person) versus a slew of postponed MY23s.

What changed? I have no idea. Maybe nothing and like I said, this might be all in my head.

Are there any MY23 allocations that didn’t get converted into MY24 yet? I feel like that ship has sailed. I could very well be wrong though.

To your point though, what changed and why MY24 would have been odds I have no idea other than they legit got their hands on more buckets for production.

If you got a VIN, you’re golden. It’s a done deal.

Are you aware of the drama with these buckets? Congrats!

I had absolutely no idea about that seats shortage until last week reading a couple posts on this forum…
I even double checked with my dealership to make sure the carbon buckets were really on my build sheet.
I guess I’ve been pretty lucky during the order process.

I’m just curious if the “quality check” step is longer than usual because of the seats.!?

Once you get that VIN, it (typically) means all of the parts are there and it just needs to be assembled. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I haven’t read anyone that had their build started but then got held up in QC because a part wasn’t available. Like I said, not impossible, but highly doubt that’s what’s going on with you. I bet you’ll be released from QC in a day or two.

Chapter, I think you are right. I think BMW made darn sure they had enough G80 carbon buckets for the early MY24ers. Hopefully in a few days, we receive positive news (Status 150).

I am still status 111 with a build week of 37. Seems like I am the only week 37er in this thread. Hopefully things speed up for all of us. I was almost at the point where I was going to cancel my order due to all the delays and get Type R but I decided to hang tight.

VIN VIN VIN!!!

This morning I hit 150 and have a VIN (with carbon buckets)!

Production date July 20th. I think that makes me Week 29, so a push of one week from the original Week 28 build. (this is on top of all of the MY23 delays, but my MY24 is with a new dealer, new allocation)

I was negotiating a deal on another car last night, glad I checked this morning...

I just hit status 112 today too!

My CA reached out today to add port installed options, mainly adding the MP HAS Kit and some other accessories.

Congrats!

And I need to get cracking on adding a few things to my build at port (assuming it goes through to 150 status.)

Super exciting time for this thread!

Thank you!

Definitely an exciting time, happy to see people getting their buckets.

I’ll feel much better when it hits 150!

Like I said last night, aside from one person, I think everyone’s bucket option has received 150 status, since becoming a MY24 allocation.

I think the shortage affected the end of the MY23s, and by postponing those allocations and forcing customers into a MY24 allocation, it allowed them to get more stock.

I still think the stock is low, but I suspect that’s why BMW stopped allowing CAs to add them to new builds, meanwhile allowing the early MY24 builds with them already added on to be completed.

Totally hypothesis. No factual basis for that. Just an opinion based on what I’ve seen.
