December 2021 I placed a 1000 deposit, got the allocation in July 2022 and received the car in December 2022.

MY2023 M3 Base/Manual

Paid MSRP (+500 dealer doc fee for the transaction) minus 2000 from a Navy Federal TrueCar coupon.

Paid MSRP for mine last month thru @ClutchAutoDeals. Was happy to pay them a broker fee to avoid the hassle. I think they have more of them but only in CA. Mine was the exact spec I wanted too:

Jahres should come with the carbon package or buckets at least for that price.

So you got hit with double tax when you registered in FL? I found one out of state but when the DMV told me that I’d be on the hook to pay tax again, I decided to wait out my local dealer allocation process.

What? No, you only pay tax for the state you live in. I’ve bought three cars out of state and it’s never an issue.

SC doesn’t even have sales tax on vehicles. Well they do, but it maxes out at $500.

Oddly enough Massachusetts May be an exception to this. If you take possession of the car in ma I think they hit you for tax even if you register it elsewhere.

This is not correct. I took possession of my car at a Mass dealer and paid no sales tax (I’ve done this many times too).

I hope you didn’t get scammed by a dealer because what you’re describing sounds like a scam. The state of Massachusetts only requires that the car is registered for you to take delivery (there’s no temp tags in Mass). You bring your out of state registration/plate to the dealer, they pop it on and you drive away.

Gave the dealer my deposit in December 2021. Extracted a (written) guarantee that they would honor the then-advertised 0.9% rate, regardless of subsequent changes in the deals offered by BMW NA Finance or the prevailing rates.

Took delivery in July 2021. Paid MSRP and 0.9% on the amount I chose to finance.

Thanks. This was a different car many years ago. They claimed they needed to deliver the car out of state to avoid. I wound up picking it up with my state tags mounted drove right off, and never heard about it again, but I got the sense the dealer thought they were skirting something by allowing the in mass delivery at all.

FYI, tried this with several west coast dealers and was told they would only sell in-state.

I paid MSRP plus a broker fee to @daylaborer for finding the allocation. No BS markups, no have to buy it accessories, no marked up financing.
