You're never going to see this age bracket driving a G8X.

My car gets a fair amount of attention. I went to get my oil changed the other day and then went by the Chevy store to talk to one of my friends, only for us to come back outside to a guy running around my car, trying to make one of those flash swooping tick-tock videos, and he was a salesman.

Kind of weird, but, I don't usually get that much attention. They had 2 C8s sitting in the showroom.

It's the color. DG is an awesome color. The only other gray i would consider if i didn't go BG.

But again i said it's about location too. You're in cali so perhaps they appreciate luxury performance cars there.

If you came to NJ, and parked your M4, and i parked my M3. And some random dude pulled up in a C8. Or even an older C7Z or C7 grand sport etc, the majority of people will go towards the corvettes. They love that "race car" appeal. Luxury cars around here get no attention.

Some spec'ed stingrays look a lot better than others. Only thing GM fucked up with, like always, are the shitty factory wheel choice and their terrible offsets.

First mod i'm doing when i get my SR is wheels. Then i'm dropping it. Although i may keep the stock wheels on the C8Z. Those look pretty damn good already.

Speak of the devil, this happened to me today. As I entered the freeway, a douchestick in a brand new 440i vert, aggressively accelerated from the mid lane into mine, effectively blocking me mid lane change, causing me to slow down behind him in order to enter the freeway safely. just the other day had a group of teens in the back of a dodge ram yelling at me saying man that car is beautiful. lol and then the next day a 40 year oldish dude in an older jeep had me roll my window down to tell me i did a "good job" with grey on black and gave me a thumbs up

Had my first "random person driving up to me in traffic just to take a picture of my car and give me a thumbs up" incident the other day and I've owned mine less than a week. I definitely didn't think it would get that much more attention than the G22. G22 flew under the radar. G82 hasn't. More Teslas and Nissans and such trying to race at stoplights, more Prius drivers riding my ass when I'm already doing 85, etc.

I'm still in the damn break-in period! Don't even have my plates yet! I just move over and slow down to like 75 to make it clear I'm chillin and they go away, but I've had a couple who zoomed up, rode my ass, then merged behind me just to stick with me. Guess they liked the view.

Retired people with money don't waste money on silly looking cars like the corvette either and I'm pretty sure most old retirees don't want a car they can barely get in and out of. My 80 year old pop cringes anytime I ask him if he wants to go cruising.

I am a (youngish) retire and bought an M3cx and loving it. Did the M race track course this week and raced a RWD round brands Hatch. So never too old!

Lots of rich old retired people buy corvettes. Some buy Porsches. They never buy m cars.

Seems that the younger generation needs to prove something by buying a luxury performance car lol. Still a good car. But it’s not corvette level overall.

This is the reason I never considered a corvette till my buddy picked up a C7 ZR1 and let me behind the wheel in the canyons. The short drive changed my perspective on corvettes forever. Freaking amazing cars.

For the record I'm not a corvette hater.

My cousin has a 2004 bright yellow Z06. Sounds amazing and it's fast. Horsepower has no expiration date!!!

We did a pull from a dig. Both are manual. I put about 1 car on him but was due to initial grip.

We did a few HWY pulls…

One run I got out by 1/2 a car and I felt he was pulling me back.

The next two runs were from 3rd gear I forget what speed. I easily pulled away and he gave up.

He said it was difficult for him to be consistent with his shifts

On a side note; his car is unbelievably low. It's difficult to get in and out and I'm very fit. He also has recaro race seats. It's a race car for sure.
