Sun tek vs xpel ppf

The big local auto salon uses sun tek and not the seems to be bimmerpost favorite xpel. Any big difference? He says the adhesive is the main difference and is easier to remove

I only have experience with XPEL, and STek DynoShield. I had XPEL on my commuter for over 100K miles, and I never had any trouble with it. If the Suntek is easier to remove, it would be easier for the adhesion to not stick, as well, and start to peel or come off, down the road.

I haven't had STek on my M4, long enough to know how it's going to perform. I will tell you that it's virtually invisible. I can't even tell it's on there. It doesn't have the same slight orange peel effect the other PPFs have.

Gotcha. I've read a lot of positive about the suntek reaction on the porsche forum rennlist as it seems to have a lot of dialog about it there. I'm good with the suntek reaction going forward

My dealer dealer sublets to a shop that uses both Xpel and Suntek, with Suntek carrying a slightly longer warranty and having the "self-healing" properties with a pre-applied ceramic coating.

The price difference for the package that I am doing (front and rear bumpers, full hood, fenders, a-pillars, roof edge (G83) mirror caps, and rockers was about $60 more to opt for the Suntek over the Xpel.

The company that is going to ceramic coat the car after the PPF did not have a preference as to which product that I used.

Yea, from what I read both are great products.

They are both identical made in the same place I believe and then labeled differently as they leave.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the brand of the PPF as they are all good but the product is only as good as the installer. I would be more concerned with the quality of work from installer.
