Anyone with xDrive running a setup?

I was looking at running..

20x10.0 +12 - 275/30/20
20x11.0 +14 - 295/30/20

But the rep at BC Forged was saying since I'm AWD the heights should be within 2% of each other and I don't understand. They're both 30 series so the heights are identical?

What setup are y'all running?

I'll be lowered on MSS just trying not to rub.

According to most, it should be under 1%

Width's also play a role in rolling diameter

255/30/20 is way different than say 305/30/20

Here's a calculator to play around with: https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc

Ideally the best setup is probably 285/30/20 and 295/30/20 which is within .3% of stock sizes.

The sidewall height is essentially the width TIMES the profile %...meaning 295/30 has a sidewall height of 295mm * .3

That's why a wider tire with a smaller profile % is the same rolling circumference as a narrower tire with higher profile %.

Google tire size calculator, there are tons out there so you can compare width and profile options.

Also, most manufacturers require rolling circumference to be within 1% front to rear for AWD cars to protect the differential. Go beyond at your own risk.

Okay so that's what BC said and suggested but they said a 285/30 runs a higher risk of rubbing on turns in front. Sigh.

285/30 in front and 295/30 in back with 20" all around.
10.5 in front and 11.0 in back, lowered on H&R Springs.
Had to push back front fender, was rubbing bad in reverse.

According to the guys on the f90 forum, they can run up to a 2% difference and be fine. All M5s have xdrive and stock tires are at 1% difference already.

If you want to risk your 5 figure transmission on information from random ppl on an internet forum, feel free. I'm running tires within tolerance.

Also, take note of this thread when a member tried 285's and 305's at the track: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1901031
Clear evidence the G series X drive's don't like it running outside 1% - his setup was 1.8% apart in diameter and it seemed like a disaster.

Until we see others get away with it I'd be very cautious.

The M5 setup may well be different enough to allow up to 2%, that does not mean the G series AWD's will.

You should run 285/30/20 and 295/30/20, esp if you're buying a new set of tires

1.1% is about the max you want to go with xDrive. 1.9% is way too far off.
