G80 in Daytona Beach Blue
Hey guys, I have an order placed for a 2025 G82 in Daytona Beach Blue that I decided on after a whole lot of color debate.
I was lucky enough to find a G80 in Daytona at a local dealer so I figured I'd go check out the color as I've never seen it before in person. (only obsessive picture searching for the past few months lol) I kept reading non stop how difficult it is to capture the true color in pics and after seeing it in person, I couldn't agree more. I had them move it outside so I could see it in the sun and it's pretty amazing the difference. The color in person was a little brighter than I expected it to be, and closer to Riviera Blue than I thought. It's a crazy unique color and I do like it, but honestly after seeing it in person, I'm thinking of switching to Voodoo blue instead for something a tad darker. Has anyone seen both in person? I'm hoping to somehow find one near me before the car locks so I can be 100% sure I'm making the right choice, but tough to find. Pics from today attached: Last edited by BMW2478; 02-12-2024 at 11:41 PM.. |

Problem is if I know this dealer like I think I do. They’re not letting you walk out there without 8K-10K mark up. That being said being able to walk out with and individual blue is awesome.

You are fully correct about the markup lol. I’m sticking with my g82 order but if I was in the market for a g80, id def consider taking it over waiting 10-12 months. The car was a customer order and he backed out for w.e reason.

I was talking to the product specialist while waiting and they did say it was spoken for, or at least at the time it was. Especially since it was custom order. Interesting that the person backed out. Curious to know if you asked what markup would be on this? |

Not sure why dealers are still trying to sell over MSRP... You can get 10% on G82 and 1-2% on G80

I called 4 local dealers. Since we are right in the middle of the 24/25 switch over w allocation in demand, 2 wanted a 10% over msrp for individual color, one wouldn’t go lower than msrp, and then the one I ordered from. Timing seems to be fairly important on these.

I have a F80 Mexico blue and just placed an order for a G80 Voodoo blue. Mexico (Daytona now) blue is an amazing color and I get tons of compliments. I wanted something a little darker this time and after seeing it on Porsche, I went for Voodoo. Either way you can’t go wrong. They both look amazing.

“Hey guys, I have an order placed for a 2025 G82 in Daytona Beach Blue….”
————- Did you ever sort out your Daytona versus Voodoo quagmire? I’m in the same boat as you. I keep flip-flopping. Yet, I’ve never seen either color in the flesh. I love the cleanness of Daytona but the moodiness of Voodoo. I like Voodoo best when it mimics Daytona, with the option of being a bit darker when it counts. On the other hand, I like Daytona best when it’s not so washed out and instead rich, deep, and candy shell-esque. Photos (here, Google Instagram, FaceBook, Pinterest, etc.) do little to help me make a decision. So mercurial… |

I actually did make the switch to Voodoo, and started to doubt myself. I then tried to switch back to Daytona but was told the car was already locked. So it'll be Voodoo for me lol. Hopefully I look back glad they weren't able to switch it again. |

[QUOTE=BMW2478;30964742]Funny story about that...

Choices are a blessing and a curse. I don’t think you could go wrong. |

I was originally looking for a light blue which is what lead me to Daytona. But after seeing it in the sun, it looked more turqoise than I was hoping for. Voodoo is a crazy ass color. In garage shots it looks extremely dark, and in the sun it looks like an awesome light blue. I've still yet to see one in person so it'll be a nervous time for me until the car comes if I can't see one before then. |

Thanks much. Have my heart on an M3. I’ve always been a coupe guy and have never had a 4-door, ever. Heck, half the time I’ve never had a back seat. I don’t need 4 doors, and seldom ever a back seat. I just favor the design of the M3 over the M4 this time around, but I’ve also waffled there too; and for a year at that.
I was on this site 25 years ago sweating over ordering a metallic silver E46, enjoyed a few years there, left for 20 years, and now I’m back around to BMW after a 20 year absence, hence the 2.0. 😃 |

Wow so we have the exact same thoughts color wise but the exact opposite car wise.
I'm going with an M4 and I've never had a 2 door ever. Just had my first kid and the biggest concern was losing the 4 doors. (even though we use our IX for family driving) I really like the coupe look on this car and I've mostly always preferred the 4 door look over the coupe on comparable cars. Maybe this is my version of mid-life crisis. |
