NCC 2024 Track Dates :)

2024 will be a fun track year I think. I cannot attend all of them, but at least three of them I am hoping. Here are the dates:
  • March 15 – 17 (Friday on the Summit Point Main / Saturday and Sunday on Jefferson)
  • May 3 – 5 Summit Point Main combined with BMW Club Race
  • June 21 – 23 Road trip to Canada (Registration Open - See details below from Trillium Chapter)
  • July 12 Instructor Appreciation Day and Pre-approved Advanced Solo (Note: July 13 – 14 is NJ HPDE and Club Race)
  • September 13 – 15 Shenandoah
  • October 19 – 20 Road trip to Pitt Race for DelVal Chapter HPDE

I think registration will open in February, or possibly sooner

I hope few of the G8x owners will attend.

We are up to 61 entries already for the May event at Summit Point Main Circuit, and there are 3 new M2s attending alongside of previous gen M2, E, F and G series M3/4s.

This is very exciting, finally an event to participate in with a bunch of Bimmer guys/gals, not Porsches

I only have ran with BMW NCC once. What run groups are solo?

The last time I ran with them was 12 years ago, so my information might not be accurate.

All of NCC’s run groups are instructed in theory, however, A group rarely gets instructors. Also, I believe any and all drivers in any group can run solo as long as chief instructor approves. So, essentially you can request a check-out ride during the first session or day, and if they approve, you can then run solo.

Here is what I noticed on the event page:

Quote:
NOTE: All students wishing to drive solo, will be approved and confirmed by the Chief Instructor. If you have not been cleared for A-Solo in the past, never driven Solo with NCC or have never driven the track before, you must attend Friday’s training day (the Friday before the HPDE) and be evaluated by our instructors. Following this evaluation, you will be cleared to drive Solo during the Saturday and Sunday HPDE. If you still have questions, please contact the NCC HPDE Registrar.

Is it open to spectators and any idea on the cost to get in? I'm local to summit point and not read to do track runs yet, but would love to meet up, watch, and chat to get any info I can.

Oh yes! C’mon to the paddock, no fees or anything. There are several good places to watch the cars at speed, and everyone is friendly and talkative. Don’t be shy

At the entrance to the facility, they’ll make you sign a waiver, then ask you which event you are there for and your response should be the ‘BMW event on the Main circuit.’ Then follow the red line that will direct you into the paddock

Edit: I am only attending the May event with NCC, and I believe @kr36 as well

Great! I think you will find that is will be a fun activity with the kids to see some exciting cars, talking to drivers, watching them run at speed.

There is also the PCA event coming up in 3 weeks, the weekend of March 23-24. I am attending that event with another dozen Bimmers. As I have been reviewing my calendar this weekend, I noticed that the BMW May event creates a couple of conflicts for me. I really want to run the PittRace track in June, so I may have to drop the May event and go to PittRace in June instead. Either way, you guys will sure have fun.

Cool added that into my calendar and will have to see if I can make it out 3/23 or 3/24 to spectate some.

A quick update:

We are only 3 weeks away from the event, and there are now 147 entries! The best part is that 77 of the entries are M cars of all generations, save for the E30 series. That's 53%!!!

It is going to be an M-Fest

We are now up to 162, about 90 of them are solo drivers, so I expect the lower two groups that I will likely be assigned into may be less than 35 per group

It is great that they accept SUVs into the event. For a long time the clubs shied away from them. Looking forward to me meeting you in person.

They still kind of do...I'm the first SUV to participate with NCC. As of 4/3, they implemented a NO SUV policy but before that they made exceptions for X3M/X4M. I'm the guinea pig NCC is piloting.
