I have never done this type of event, but seems very interesting. It is essentially a combination of track driving with autox timing, not quite a time trial though.

The course is set up on part of the track, so not lapping the full course. Standing start, running finish, best of 6-8 runs, possibly more.

The good parts of this format, for some, are:

• You are the only car running the course or at maybe 20-30 secs ahead of the next car, so no worry about passing or yielding or about slower/faster cars. Let the timing speak for itself.
• You don't have to worry about brake pads or fluids, because it is essentially a half-lap run and then you cool down waiting for your turn to run again. So, there isn't much of a stress on the car, not even the tires in this format.
• There are no work assignments as in autox. You just run

Oh man! If I had the car back east, I'd be in. Looks like a pretty fun time.

Though I wonder how summers would perform in January...

I have similar thoughts. I intend to find out though

Worst case, I'll go really slow, or if it is wet or icy, I'll cancel. But I think it is too good of an opportunity during the off-season not to run haha.

Looks like you aren't far from me. I live in Darnestown, dont ever see M3s around here let alone a CS!

Hello;
I pass through Darnestown once every other week or so. I also hardly see any G8x vehicles. Since I purchased the car, I have seen only two and one was in VA.

I hope we'll get to meet sometime next year in an autox or track event

Up to 57 entries thus far. If the weather holds dry, I think this will turn out to be superb event

Unfortunately, only 3 other BMWs and they are pre-2011 cars.
