So I want to share my experience with Arrowhead. Unlike most of you, my vehicle is X7. I have placed an order with Arrowhead since they were the only ones with allocation @ the time I placed the order (July 2022). We drove from Tucson on a weekday evening to place that order. BMW NS had allocation, but at a later date.

My Prod date was 08/19. My vehicle prod date got pushed to 08/16 and it entered QC immediately. It was sitting in QC for 19 days when I texted my SA about how disappointed I was with BMW and Arrowhead for lack of transparency on why my vehicle was sitting in QC for that long, while vehicles with prod dates of 09/01/22 were clearing QC and even delivered to customers. I sent the text on Saturday really really early morning. I got NO RESPONSE whatsoever.

Fast forward to 09/05/22 - My vehicle cleared QC after sitting in QC for 21 days. He sent us an email saying - your vehicle is scheduled to arrive on 09/12/22. He did not bother to make any reference to my earlier text where I expressed concern about my vehicle. I understand he may or may not have known the reason, but ZERO courtesy baffled me.

I then replied to his email asking why the car was stuck in QC. His response "I assume it was some sort of programming or part issue. "

^^ response is only after prodding him.... otherwise, he was never going to acknowledge my text ?

I don't feel like I am buying a luxury car. I get better customer service from Honda dealership. I don't like to hear - oh, because of covid reason for everything and anything either.

Just sharing my experience

Just sharing my experience

Note: Tucson BMW - We worked with Brett, but they did not have ANY allocation for X7 and did not know when they would get one. Thats the reason why we drove 2+ hours to Arrowhead.

He should have been following up with you often. That's what his job is IMO.

Any chance Dennis' last name starts writing an H, and means an object you wipe your nose with? Cause that kind of communication is exactly what I got from my Dennis at Arrowhead. Absolutely abysmal.

This Dennis you speak of is also the issue I had with Arrowhead. I truly don't know that he can get much for additional info about time in QA, but he should have directed you to call the BMW Genius line, because they can get more information.

When I ordered my 22 M8 I worked with Maurice Bell (Mua). From the get because I wanted B&W it wasn't an option listed he informed me it would be 8mths, so very transparent the whole way no sugar coating. I waiting and sure enough about 10 months with 3mths sitting in QC I got her. He followed everything to the tee. There is a reason he was number two M sales associate of the year. Sadly the dealers don't have much actual insight into the factory just what they get via the tracker as well.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's either Scott Bilgo at BMW NS or Bits at Chapman.

I've never heard of the guy at Arrowhead and they are a relatively new dealer. Maybe he is the dealer's #2 sales guy.

Trying to get an allocation is pretty impossible it seems... BMW NS wants $2500 but Chapman isn't taking deposits - any particular reason why? Both are looking at 12-14 months as of now.

If NS is asking for a deposit that big then they don't think you're a real customer.

Last time I ever paid a deposit for a car it was maybe $1,000. But, it's been over 15 years since I've paid an actual deposit to BMW NS.

No dealer should take a deposit until you have an allocation. I'm guessing you'd still be getting in line for an allocation at any dealer, thus no deposit should be taken.

That said, I didn't pay a cent until I took delivery. BMW NS, specifically my CA, was the best car buying experience I have had and I'm not just saying that.

It's just my opinion. Doesn't make it true. The market is crazy these days so who knows.

Once you have a relationship, they won't ask for a deposit again.

Yeah, that makes sense. Gotta establish myself somewhere, might as well be the closest dealer to me.

Ended up ordering an Isle of Man / Kyalami Orange competition - pretty excited as I've been eyeing an M3 since 2013.

Nice! I get complimented almost daily on my car with that combo. I just went with a base, wanted the 6MT. I love every minute driving the car.

I have the same combo...best compliment so far occurred in Prescott:

Have you tried Tucson BMW. They are a smaller dealership compared to any of the Phoenix ones, but hey - you find the strangest things in strangest places …. You never know

Brett Sabori is a really nice gentlemen at BMW of Tucson.
