I've grown to not mind the Lexus predator grille. The only thing I don't like about this design is the strange checkmark DRL's under the headlights. Looks like bags under eyes. Front end would be cleaner without them. I've moved on from Japanese vehicles after driving them nearly exclusively for a few decades. They are competent but all feel like they were developed by scientists in a lab that have never actually driven a car. Cold and soulless. Kind of like Audi's but not as nice to sit in.

But honestly what's cringe about Straight Pipes is they don't even really review the driving aspects of the car. I just don't feel like I learn anything from watching them. |

Yea I could see that...I kind of like the regular guys just driving a car angle but if you're looking for more technical stuff there's definitely better sources for sure

These guys are so terrible, especially compared to Throttle House who are actual car guys that know about cars, driving, etc.

CL will be glad to have the new ex BMW fanboys, should help with the numbers since nobody buys RCF except a small group of hardcore toyota fanboys. I mean who knew!!
A car this beautiful and yet has lackluster sales. Around here, we were being told by the masses that the GX cars will be sales failures. Yet, they appear to be selling more than the beautifully sculpted RCF. Mind you, base G80 still more capable than a so-called ' RCF Track Edition".

If the base G80 wins against the track edition then the G80 GTS will positively eat it alive. |

Harsh but true. I find myself gravitating to throttle house content, as well.

Even for the G82. Word has it BMW is substituting the GTS label for the CSL one.

I find their videos interesting because I think they represent the average so called "I'm into cars" guys. They are very much a target demographic for something like the G80, but if they don't like the look then that's a knock against what BMW was going for.

True, because this new promotional campaign is a head scratcher for me.

Which isn't really a knock on the Lexus - it's a great car. Just not as great at doing M stuff as the M car. |

I can only speak for myself, but I'm pretty sure I am the target demographic for BMW: young, tech/finance industry, "upwardly mobile", whatever. Unfortunately, when I see the marketing campaign it makes me cringe. Definitely missed the mark with that stuff. |

I get that the G80/G82 grille is polarizing but man have I always hated these Lexus grilles. Not quite as bad on the smaller cars like the RCF but on the SUVs it looks hideous.

So, for example, if you have a family and buying this car as a daily driver, you might prefer TH because they're more car enthusiast oriented. However, your wife might value such things as infotainment, cupholders, seat comfort and how many boxes can fit into the trunk, and that's where SP shines. In fact, this niche is probably bigger than the car enthusiasts' niche. |
