I have a Bootmod3 license already activated for my mini cooper s. I purchased another license for my 2022 g82 m4 competition. When I log in Bootmod3 recognizes the new vehicle and says obd connected but under that it says "vehicle not registered in this account". Since I have another car activated on the account I never got the pop-up screen to enter my activation code. Does anyone know how to add a 2nd activation code?

I think my car may already have a tune unless the femto unlock comes with some of the custom rom features. I never thought to check for the features before sending the dme out because I got the car from the dealer and assumed they would have reset the dme or updated the software. But I wasnt able to flash it today, which got me thinking I might not be able to register it to my account because it's registered to an account with the previous owner. So I went for a drive and thought I should see if it has any custom rom features and it does. Not sure if that's because of the femto unlock for bm3 custom rom or if it had a custom tune already. I noticed it had:
1 No Check Engine Light after I installed downpipes while the dme was in route to Finland.
2 Rolling anti-lag works if I hold the cruise control with up to the first slot and floor it.
3 Map switching shows Map 1 if I hold the cruise control switch all the way down. But it won't cycle to other maps.
4 Ethanol content check by holding cruise control switch down to first click shows 0, probably because I haven't installed the flex fuel sensor yet.

Are those features part of when femto unlocks the dme or is it possible that it's left over from a tune put on by the previous owner.

Step one for BM3 literally tells you to hook up and poll the DME. That would have answered your questions and saved you some money on the unlock, if it was. I doubt it was unlocked though… was it CPO or no warranty when you bought it?

Did that, it said femto unlock required. Now it still says something like "femto unlock required unless already unlocked then vehicle can be flashed".

It's Certified Pre-Owned.

If it was CPO, then it was locked, just like BM3 indicated, so you’re good.

You need to email BM3’s support and tell them you’re wanting to put another license under the same account you had for your Mini. (You may need to use another device to load the app on and run the BMW license on it, as I’m not certain the app is built to support multiple cars/multiple licenses at the same time.)

Their FAQs page says the OBD agent hardware device can be used on multiple vehicles. When I read it I thought they were talking about the device using the app. But now I'm thinking they might be talking about the wifi adapter.

I emailed them for help but I'm on west coast time and they are eastern so I have to wait until tomorrow. I was hoping someone on here had run into the issue before. I can't be the only person to want BM3 on two of their cars.

So do you think the custom rom features that the car has with just the femto unlock are just part of the unlock?

Grab your laptop, load the app and do it that way. If you only have your phone, then you can try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and see if it’ll let you add your license then or if it just pulls the already associated one (MINI) when you log in. That’s about the only thing you can try for now until you get a response.

If you got the latest unlock options for miltimap, etc., then yes, those functions would be there as they’d be core ones that would have to be there with just the single base map for your car and nothing else.

You can always create a support ticket and the PTF team can let you know if the car is unlocked or not based on the VIN and the records in their database.

I just heard back from them. They said you can only have 1 license per account. I'm waiting to hear back if I can just create a 2nd account under another email or if I have to use a separate device etc.

I have 2 accounts with 2 separate emails. One for my 340i and another for the G80.

I am able to use one device (iPhone) for both. Need to log into both accounts. Funny enough, there is a drop down in the app to scroll back and forth to each account.

PTF’s rule is “one VIN/license to one email”. Use a second email address to set up your second license. If you purchased using your first email just email PTF Support with your purchase proof and ask that they move it to your second email.

PTF needs to update the app and backend to allow the user to support multiple cars in a single account. For the sake of making it difficult for someone to run some kind of goofy tuning ring, perhaps limit it to 2-3 cars, but other than that need, I see no real credible reason to require a different email address for every single damn car. That’s just fucking stupid on their part. Who wants to set up multiple emails just for one goddamn app?

I created a new account with a different email and was able to log in and flash this morning using my laptop. I've since been able to log in on my phone but it's an android so it's a real pain in the a$$ to try to do anything with using the ethernet cable. So I'll probably continue using the laptop for everything.

you can purchase the wireless adapter, I heard its more reliable than the cables with android devices.

It will always femto unlock required even if it is unlocked.

However, it WILL say custom rom detected if Custom ROM is enabled on the DME.

That’s not what their instructions say, so what’s the point in doing a poll to check because there’s no “safe” indicator then for when you can apply a flash or not.
