Have they checked the rotors? Had that issue happen to me once. Similar symptoms and it ended up being the rotors. Doubt that is the culprit but you never know.

In my case the brakes are firm, strong and without any sign of vibration. To tell you the truth that was one of the first thing I checked. My car has 12.800 miles and no one seems to know what is going on. I will give it 1-2 more months and then send the car back to where it came from. I have driven 6 different M3/4s ( one of them 900hp and daily abused), all xdrive and none of them vibrate to the slightest. |

I had the prop shaft replaced and still vibrates, it's so frustrating and they have no idea what is causing it either. |

But I've only had one ever. Brand new floating rotor for my 79 Porsche Turbo. The thing that makes me think it's possibly a rotor for you guys is the high speed required to feel the vibration. Rotors are smaller diameter, width and weight. So they have less rotating mass to affect the car. It's only when you get above highway speeds, and that thing is really spinning, that you can feel it. I do agree out of balance rotors are definitely not common. But they have tried everything else. |

My bushings are milway
My rotors checked ok ( I had them checked on a machine that you can see if the are bent or unbalanced) Now they blame my akrapovic exhaust but the stock one goes back tomorrow and then again in bmw I downloaded an app that measures nvh. A friend suggested it after he used it to "diagnose" his 540i The app shows simultaneously the driveshaft and the wheels. So I am looking into wheel hubs also because tires and wheels are 1000% ok My vibration starts at the steering wheel from 45km/h and then progress to the chassis and the steering wheel at 85-90km/h. Then as the km/h rises so does the vibration |

I had a feeling it wouldn't.. I have no idea what it is, my car has pretty much been taken apart and put back together again. The work is not warranty work in my eyes as it came off the production line with the inherent fault. Don't really want a car that's been taken apart and put back together, I purchased a new one not a secondhand stripped one. |

My mechanic ( not the dealership ) says that he thinks it's the torque converter in the gearbox. The symptoms match the vibrations. It's too far stretched, but if nothing happens with the dealership or bmw in general, either I am selling it or start changing parts myself. It's a shame because it's individual in/out (frozen dark grey idrive8 with tartufo)but.. If you can push them to check the gearbox also. |

Thanks Nick, I've now rejected the car, told them I don't want it anymore, it's been 14 month now, enough is enough. Keep me updated on anything that changes, I will as well. |

I think you should lemon the car / get a trade assist. It sounds like the dealer has been helpful but you’re running out of options here.

I will keep you updated I am searching for options too, so today I test drove for 20 minutes an M8 competition with about 13k km's. And what do you think happened???? The exact same vibration as my car. Steering wheel and chassi. Its f@cking crazy !!!!!!!!! Even tested it with my app. The same exact thing as mine I am waiting for another friend to drive his M3 just to make sure I am not crazy. I also have a 2020 X5 40i with 45k km's. It's silent, drives without any kind of vibration, straight as an arrow and on the app that i use it gives ZERO red zones... |

Test drove one f90 m5 no vibration at all
Test drove another g80xdrive 2023 nothing at all Car is back in BMW dealer but I don't think they are going to make any progress. In my area right now I have contact with 6 cars with the same vibration as mine 4 M3 ( one of them g81, one of them on the other dealer in the city trying to figure it out ) 1 M4 1 M8 Dealer says absolutely nothing and knows absolutely nothing |

How about the other g80 that is on a ramp in another dealer here this exact moment? How about my other cars currently? None of them have the slightest vibration. How about my previous Ms and porsches and amg's that had zero vibrations If there was no issue with my car I wouldn't be searching and updating people here. There are other threads in this forum that had no solution on the subject and died. The op rejected the car due to this issue And I am the one who is in need of balancing? And now I saw that you followed this thread. And you commented on op's posts. And you decided to comment on my findings ? Last edited by nick///M3; 03-01-2024 at 07:48 AM.. |
