Pics of said bearings?

About the clutch: A friend was running 25k km (15.5k mi) on stage 2 and he gave his gearbox for upgrade. Clutch was done. So basically above 900 nm (660-700 ft lbs) you will roast the clutch at some point.

For me:
1. Change frequently oil (3000 mi) and I think it is better to switch to different oil (not OEM).
2. Torque must be limited 650-700 ft lbs (if one plan to drive the car for a long term)
3. If one plans to go hybrids or frame - just do engine and gearbox (not worth the risk).
Will this also be an issue if you leave the car stock?

Is this stock or modded? If modded, what mods? HP/TQ numbers?

Regarding the bearings, there was a recall from BMW. Unfortunately, I don't remember which model years this affected. Must have been pretty early on. Was yours also one of these models?

IIRC... it was for cars built around Sept 2021

Stock for 3000km, then 6000km stage 1 and 2 (max was 630whp/600tq, but I drove most of the time on pump so 580/570 something like this). Overall 1/5 of the mileage was on e40 blend.

Is there a way to check for said recall for the bearings with a VIN lookup?

Open the bmw app and check the status of the car, go to services and the first link is recalls/service, open it and input your vin.

With miles that low I’m curious to know if the break in period was followed?🤔

I only ask because I’m pretty sure the break in oil is pretty thin.

That’s cause people aren’t honest about it. Who cares if it happens? Your pushing the stock parts and when doing so, shit is going to break. Share the info so everyone can learn and the companies can start make better parts. It should be like the crank hubs on the S-55. When mine spun, I had to pay to fix it. Oh well. There is an entire thread on people posting about it

I did the brake in as prescribed. Started pushing the platform after the brake in.

Don't get scared off by someone posting this info. If you don't mod your car and don't track it, you should be ok. Change your oil every 3 to 5k and don't do doughnuts every day or burnouts, you should be ok.

Noob question but what's the cost to replace these? Also the cost to do a preventative fix (if that exists)
