If that will be your only mod there will not be any unwanted sounds that need to be removed with a resonator. Based on that I would say it does not matter very much.. I would go Non resonated.

Would you recommend your guys resonated midpipe if I plan on getting downpipes in the future?

I just installed mine. Last week. Perfect set up for me. Good tone. Gets plenty loud on throttle. I can hear downshifts much better now as well. Plus as others have stated, when you switch to efficient mode with valves closed you almost can’t hear the exhaust at all when cruising.

I made a video myself that’s features mostly in car audio along with some drive-by clips. I don’t have the best camera/mic setup but it is still a reasonable example of what the system sounds like. Bottom line, I love it and it really enhances the driving experience for me a great deal. I have no plans to do down pipes or mess with the back box. This midpipe for me is just right.

My car is US spec, so I didn’t have an OPF to deal with.

I just ordered a Mad midpipe from Mike @ Extreme Powerhouse. Its a christmas present, but have a question. My car only has 200 miles on it and will need the break in service in the next few months. Is the dealer going to say anything if I put it on before that?

It’s hard to imagine that they would. Most dealers seem pretty cool with exhaust mods in my experience. The bigger thing for me would be not allowing the enhanced exhaust sound tempting me to rev out the engine .

Also, I challenge you to get that break in mileage knocked out faster than two months. Drive that thing!!! It only gets better once you are free to unleash the beast!

I want to drive it more trust me. When I ordered my m3, I still had my lease for my Range Rover which expires in February. My dealer was very adamant about getting the car ordered as it could take several months to get. I still have a few thousand miles left on my lease so my logic is to drive that as much as possible and preserve the miles on my car.

Yeah that makes sense. Hard to argue with that logic.

Congrats

The dealer wont say anything over a midpipe upgrade

Or get break in done as soon as you can, then let the car chill while you put miles on the Range Rover!

I've never heard of a dealer causing an issue over a mid pipe.

They are people though so it's not 100%.

So, I'm planning to get 1 of the 2 midpipes (res or non res) but without any other exhaust mods. Is it correct to say the resonated version will have a deeper sound with less rasp? Out of the other comments, it is mentioned with the DPs.

AFAIK resonators just change volume and reduce rasp, but there's really no rasp to speak of if you're not swapping downpipes. If you're going to keep stock downpipes, the recommendation is unresonated.

On stock downpipe it will smooth out the sound a little. Volume will be relatively the same and you will be happy either.

Would the volume be the same with either the resonated or non resonated pipes?

As I've only heard the non-res option with no other exhaust mods (besides valve controller), I can't say whether or not there is a reduction in volume. But what I can say is that with valves open, IMO there is PLENTY of volume. If I had my time again, I'd go the resonated version even if it did sacrifice a little volume just to round some of the edge of the sound.
