This crew is making the best car content on the internet right now. I don't even give a shit about Mustangs and I enjoyed that.

Hagerty has been killing it lately, very Top Gearish quality. Nothing will ever fill that OG Top Gear sized hole in my heart though.

That and Top Gear is a perfect lesson where the chemistry and people make the show.

What would BMW need to respond with though? The Dark Horse was on a Trofeo RS tire and the M4 a Michelin 4S (the Trofeo RS is even better than a Cup2R) and yet the M4 was only 1 tenth behind on track. Even those out and the M4 would be significantly faster. They are much closer in pricepoint now, and the M4 has been out for several years and still remains the benchmark for the segment by some margin. That's my take anyway...and I do think the DH is a great car.

An epic presentation as always.
I’ve wanted one of those Dark Horses since they were announced, this film has made that desire even stronger. |

I really want to hear about what this car is like on regular PZero's or 4S's.

If you’re comparing lap times, then yes, yes it is.

In my case, I wasn't so much commenting on this particular head to head, moreso to see how much of this car is reliant on the super grippy tires vs. how much inherent grip is baked into the chassis. They do what they can. Manufacturer is always going to send a car on the cheater tires if they are sold as such. But kudos to Jason and team for pointing it out. The best they can do. |

I like the DH. However, I feel like JC is overplaying the whole bespoke chassis idea in this instance. What's the actual benefit since it clearly isn't weight advantage. Is it handling? A GT or DH are as heavy as an M4C (on a shared chassis) with xDrive. Albeit, I'm not sure if the M4C in this test was xDrive or not.

I'd really like to drive one on track - and with the Corsas. That's about the extent of my curiosity. Same with the GTD.

Oh I dont disagree, it was a good video and a decent review. I just dont take much stock in lap times when the purpose of the video is to compare the cars, not the tires they came with.

It would also be interesting to see what would happen if they drove the Mustang for more than one lap. My guess is that the engine and/or transmission would overheat shortly thereafter.

https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/thr...plenty.158327/ Ford is not exactly known for building road cars that you can take straight to the track. Even the GT350 was known for having overheating issues. |
