You’re also paying for the brand name plus it sounds good! So $10k is probably right.

Sounds really good but definitely not 10K worth of sound.

They are a Slovenian company.

The $10k price tag is truly just a guesstimate but based on previous price tags for the M3/M4 plus the increase in M tax for the G8x generation that we are seeing it wouldn't surprise me to see it come in around that.

Well what exactly does that get you? Replacing the entire exhaust? Perhaps made of titanium?

Yes, more than likely will be titanium.

As far as what it will all entail, not sure yet. I haven't seen specifics being discussed if it is a full or partial replacement for the G8x.

I just can’t see that many people dropping 10K regardless of how awesome it sounds. I won’t say nobody will but I just don’t think very many people will.

Sound good but I'm content with the competition stock sound.

Akra has traditionally done slip-ons (with tips) for 4,500 to 5,000 and a full x pipe + slip-on for a total of 6,500 to 7,000. I would anticipate this to be in the same range.

Funny to see so many of you whine about the price that at this time you are guessing. As far as the sound goes, this sounds a lot better than the "other guys" out there.

True but don't forget that COVID has messed up the supply chain for just about anything and companies are charging even more than years past because materials and/or labor is more scarce.

Even though the Remus clip that was recently posted is even shorter than the one from Akra, I think it sounded better.

It will be interesting to hear more sound clips of the MPE, Akra, Remus, and Eisenmann setups later this year.

I don’t know if you can really tell from a video just how much “a lot better” it sounds. I think in the video it sounds pretty good. I’m not whining about 10K either. I’m a pretty easy sale for the most part. Embarrassingly so actually. LOL. However I just don’t see the value. I would strongly consider it for half that much. I probably still wouldn’t do it but I would be very interested. I would go out of my way to hear it in person and if I loved it I would buy it.

Video can't tell you much but if you heard any Akrapovic system (full or slip-on) on a BMW M car, you know the sound signature and this video gives you a very good idea of what this is going to sound like on the G8X.

As for price, it's going to turn away a lot of people but its sound is almost in a league of its own. Most aftermarket exhausts give you that loud and bass-like sound which people like because they want to differentiate from OEM and want something to show for the price (I personally hate it) but the Akrapovic is pretty much OEM+. You have to like that metallic/raspy sound to even consider it, otherwise you're looking at something like Supersprint, Eisenmann, Armytrix, Remus, etc.

Sure sounds a lot better than the MPE, but still not as good as my gas leaf blower.

Ignoring the price for a moment, this is the best exhaust made by the very best. The price? Well - it is what the market will bear.

I wonder what's going to happen to Akrapovic and other premium exhaust manufacturers when the golf carts take over.

Sounds pretty good the pops and bangs sound more aggressive and distinctive. It sound some very similar to what company offering the mid pipe for 2k. I haven't heard the car in person only see it at the parking lots. It's a twin turbo V6 don't I don't have high expectations but as long as it sounds better then my 21 M340 with the MPE, personally I'll be satisfied.

I would consider the MPE only if they offer it with the standard look. They got too bold with that design plus that defuser is ugly the standard one looks way better

Very good point actually. Imagine the future of aftermarket exhaust systems where Bowers & Wilkins partners with Akrapovic to produce the next generation digital exhaust acoustics.

Disruption.

Sounds great. Bet I bet the price tag + retail dealer markup won't sound great though...

expensive yes, not justified for most but these things are so well made, fitment is 125% perfect and absolutely no drone, none.
