Galvanic Controls (4U0, $100) has been a special order in the US since the beginning, it is just that dealers can’t special order anything without a fight.

So sad to hear. I did not know that it was a special order that we can add to our build.

Cost difference USA

M4 Comp X drive USA - $88,300 (£68,700 Uk pounds)
M4 Comp X drive UK - $116,500 (£90,725 Uk pounds)

Why is the UK car $28,200 more than the exact same car in USA?

In the USA wages are much higher generally than UK, although I believe you don't get great vacation time.

UK price is fine. In Austria it starts at $142,578 (130,809 euros), almost the double compared to US price, which is by far the lowest of the world.

Part of it looks like it might be that "M Race Track Package" and the content differences for the base price. The USA options list is really different than the UK list, though if you click everything it ends up the same in the end. It certainly looks like we can customize our options list more than folk in the UK can. But, the options that are available for the UK seem to have the same flat cost is GBP as US dollars (full leather is 2275 pounds vs 2500 dollars...which makes the leather $400 more expensive in the UK).

However, I've noticed this before. Porsche UK prices are less aggressive for you than BMW UK prices, leading to price parity between BMWs and Porsches for the UK that doesn't exist in the US. "Why buy this BMW when you can buy a Cayman for the same price?"

That sort of thing. In the US, the price gap between random BMW and random Porsche is vast compared to the UK.

Where is the 20% VAT in the UK price?

20% VAT would be in that price.

Do USA pay sales tax on top of the list price? Up to 10% depending on the state

Yes, Sales Tax in the US is not listed on the configurator. It varies too much, and can even vary by city within a State. And then there's a few states that have no sales tax.

In my state they’ll make you pay sales tax when you register it.

Yep, then you get home and have to write a $10k check to the DMV in order to register it. But at least you were happy for a few days.

If you want to be pedantic, this method does completely eliminate the need to pay "sales" tax on the car. It just unfortunately gets replaced by a "use" tax of the exact same amount.

All this is doing, is giving you the option to click and order, like the UK.
Seats: 4,500
Alcantara wheel: $500
M Drive Pro: $900
CF Interior $950
CCBs $8,500
M Drivers $2,500

Which is weird, because thats over $17,000.

No, everything is taxed, as sales tax. You buy anything, in your state, and you add tax to it. In my city, in California, its 8.25%. So, for $8,250 on $100k.

Its is. An even better deal, is the tail lights are free. About $8,500 at the parts counter. And I havent seen the part number, yet. If I run across it, I will post it. There are already copies going around,. AutoID sells them.

[QUOTE=CJHCJJ;30975099]How long did your car stay in quality check? Did you select alcantara wheel and driving assistance pro?

It’s been on there for 2 weeks now. My build is completely maxed with everything minus the carbon package.

I go back and forth with the black vs the silver wheels, but I lean towards the silver. Black seems to be the most popular choice, so thw silver seems like a rarity, exclusive

I'm not seeing this on the G8x factory accessory list. Are you saying that the dealer would order/install this for you? I would agree but that's not really a factory option at that point.

Galvanic controls are in the order guide, and now in the options section in the configurator.

This person claimed they were special order "since the beginning" which is what I was referring to (assumed he meant since the G8x was a thing 4 years ago).

My bad, I thought it was referring to the other guy that didn’t know they could be added. FWIW, the guy you quoted is full of poop. If they were ever an option in NA, someone here would have found a way to either add them to a build, or order them, and yet no one did.

I figured. FWIW I've ordered a the galvanic controls for my G83 using my local dealer parts dept as some help, the same that go on the G23 says it's compatible with "G83 LCI" so we'll se when they get here (currently month out backordered lol). I suspect it'll work fine since the door cards should be similar between the G2x and G8x.
