I would mention the steering wheel being off-center when you get the alignment done.

I think about alignment this way: the $200-250 to be certain your tires are wearing evenly i.e., will last as long as they could is a worthwhile investment considering how much tires cost for this car.

I had mine done at the shop that did my PPF. For the record, my steering wheel isn't off center, so it didn't occur to me to ask the dealer. But I can't imagine the dealer being willing to throw in an alignment.

Installed my turner high kick spoiler, TLG mudflaps, and Rennline phone mount (not pictured)

Here's mine yesterday.
All the following stuff done now:
--PPF (high impact areas)
--TLG mud flaps
--Zunsport oil cooler guard
--Alignment
--BMW trunk mat, cargo net, F+R all-weather floor mats
--BMW Performance CF license plate frame

(The CF license plate frame is really what made the car fast.)

I have ~400 miles on it.
Lots of brake dust already. I'll have to clean it soon just because of that.

GolfCoyote That's a seriously high-kick spoiler. Do you like it better than the BMW Performance one?

BMW all-weather floor mats (not liners). They fit great and have plenty of grip.

The carbon buckets look stunning and provide tons of support. I only did one long distance drive so far, about two hours, and I started to feel a little stiff, but I was also nervous as heck, so who knows. I'll know more when I take another trip.

Jealous you had break-in service. How long did that take?

Ummmm…..let it rip today…. 🥰 holy f it’s fun and fast!!

I figured out how to do launch control and practiced a few times.

I see why people think that something changed on the car after break in….bc it feels like a different car when you can take it to redline and drive it hard.

I’ve decided I only like driving the car with sport plus throttle on all the time. My M1 is highest sport settings on all and M2 is the same except with comfort suspension.

That's good to hear. I'm still at ~500 miles and haven't gone past 3.5K RPM. Toyota Camry's are faster at the moment. The exhaust is so quiet in Comfort mode!

That said, I did flog the M3 Comp xDrive during the M track day I did last year (which ultimately let me to buying an M3) and it is really a monster and sounds great.

For M track days, BMW rents different tracks, and you get professional instruction in a lead/follow format.
They post events here: https://driving.bmwusa.com/mtrackdays
I did the 1-day M school but there's also a 2-day school (which I bought but haven't scheduled yet).

At the event I did, we drove the M2, M3, and M4 on track pretty much flat out and they also did drifting/skidpad lessons and slalom. It was very professionally put together.

You can do it as a beginner i.e., no track experience, but I think BMW's Performance Driving School is better if you are new to high-performance driving.
https://www.bmwperformancecenter.com/
Those events are held in SC or in CA. Basically, take your partner/SO/best friend and make a trip out of it. You learn all kinds of things that will help you on the street or track.

Then do the M track day after that, then the 2-day M school.

It is impossible not to have a blast at these events!

Look into the SST valve controller. Suuuuper easy install and made a noticeable difference in exhaust volume. I was pleasantly surprised with mine.

I’ve been looking at doing the two day M driving school, when are you planning on doing it? Let me know I may join!

Been trying to find a buddy to do it with….although may have to save up again after buying this thing and full ppf 🤣

I’ve been thinking I may make it a goal to get my racing license over the next 10 years.

I've been told to do the 2-day school at their Thermal, CA location since it's a better facility. I may start a thread here when I go to get a group going.
BTW, I think the 2-day M school is about $4,000. I got it for $3,300 when BMW was running a sale.

Seriously, the $ spent on this car ...I've been driving BMW's for 13 years. The M car is absolutely the ///Most expensive. I've spent about $5,200 over the car's purchase price to get PPF and all the little things (oil cooler guard, floor mats, alignment, mud flaps, detailing supplies).

My joke is when you see someone that has an M, you might be tempted to think they have money ...truth is, they HAD money.
