Yes this is stage 3 and I love how it knocks me back each shift but am not sure long term as how reliable the tranny will do. I'm considering going down to stage 2 and keep stage 3 for spirited driving and track sessions. If anyone else can chime in on how reliable this is please do.
I did reach out to them a couple of weeks back and asked if there were any longevity issues with regards to running Stage 3 and also running throttle blips 25% above what the map sets them as. Below is the response from Clemens.

Would you not assume it was actually better for the trans since it's running higher clamping pressures and not allowing for a great deal of clutch slip, hence the sharper and less smooth gear changes in Sports modes?
No way he would say anything else!? Lol

Hey everyone. Before I go install this. I heard people with JB4s are actually getting worse results with this in launching and quarter mile. And XHP is pretty much saying that they can't do anything about it and to get a proper tune. Any truth to this. Very concerning to hear about this after I waited 2 weeks for the damn dongle.

Nothing like a science-backed response.

Well I just got the suggested MHD WIFI adapter (big black) and spent money on the license and all the maps. I went to go flash and got this error….

https://rbttuning.atlassian.net/wiki...F-%26-G-Series)

according that FAQ and that diagram, the black WiFi adapter is not supported for G-series

Same thing happened to me. I made the mistake of reading on the burgertuning website that the G80 was supported so I assumed it would work with the XHP tcu tune. The black works on everything else but the TCU tune. I ended up returning it and ordering the orange and burgertuning refunded me.

LOL I did the same because the MHD black says G series.

most the adaptors (kies, MHD black) will work for flashing the car, however for the initial unlock you need XHP, MHD orange, or Thor wifi. after the unlock you can reflash/change setting using any of the other adaptors.

This talks about it a little:
https://www.xhpflashtool.com/blog/li...engine_torque/

Piggybacks have to trick various parts of the system to accomplish things (compared to a flash which actually overwrites the maps). This is most likely why piggyback users may have had issues. If that is the issue perhaps Terry can create a custom map to account for different xHP flashed values that the piggyback isn't used to seeing.

Just installed it, and I love it. Reminds me of DCT. Downshifts are great too.
I don't have any quarter mile numbers yet but I will soon.

Let's hope I can marry this and the JB4 to work in harmony. I'll keep you updated.

Let's all spam Terry's email box and see if we can get a TCU map for Jb4. I too feel like I didn't get faster. I'm actually getting slower draggy results.

Has anyone tried flashing with the wired E-net cord? xHP claims its not supported but my buddy was able to unlock and flash his 2019 G01 X3 M40 with no issues...

Only affects Stage 3 map. I think there was a slight issue with the 5>6 upshift.

Has anyone had legitimate success pairing the trans tune with the jb4?

Strange because BMS posted that their M4 went from 10.5s quarter mile to 10.2s quarter mile with no JB4 changes only adding in XHP. They wrote what worked best for their launches was brake boosting.

Hi, when I tested V1.2 the S mode stop auto shift when I’m launching the car. Whether u have the kicked down active or not is still the same. Any advice for those already tried? Thanks

Why not just keep it in d3?

He can't launch in D3, only S3

Does the functionality you're describing work as expected if you flash it back to v1.1? If so, just shoot them a message explaining what you've found and they'll put a fix out for you to try.

Also, I dropped back to Stage 2 a while back as the Stage 3 one just feels a tad harsh on the trans to me, so I haven't tested the Stage 3 v1.2. This is my first BMW and first XF TCU Tune so I haven't got a base to go off of.

Do you know where to get additional info on this? has it been hard proven to be 50 launches and then soft launches? How much of a difference? I've heard rumblings about this, but not any hard data or evidence.
There is no hard data or evidence. It's just a couple forum members who swear by it.

My thoughts are that if this was true, how come BMW is not disclosing this anywhere? Lawsuit anyone?! You'd think it would literally be in the manual or some kind of official statement. Why hide it and then punish the owners by making the car shift slower?! Never heard any manufacturer doing this.
You need to buy the launch control Pro subscription and you get 5 additional launches a month
