I had the same thought/concern while watching that video. Even though my knowledge on the topic is minimal I know enough that when building my computers a good thermal paste is necessary for proper heat transfer to the heat sink and CPU fan.

Unfortunately I do not. We use industrial thermal paste (higher end artic silver like) and or 3M thermal pad/tape which are squished down in-between the chip and heat sinks via a bracket of some sort. They are not designed to hold anything into place without something holding the heatsink down onto it with pressure. And these pastes wont handle much more than 130C which is much higher than most chips Tmax run at. Typically most semiconductor chips run at a max of 95C. I freak out when I see them at 70C.

Another member posted something by 3M. It looked like a good solution. But I am not an engineer and I have no experience with it. 3M has excellent customer service. I would call them ask ask them about it or what they suggest.

I ordered a tube of this stuff, which I've used previously. Has a temp rating up to 250 f, which should be far more than sufficient.

IMPORTANCE Double check your DRL configuration

For those outside the State, make sure to double check your DRL to confirm to get the right one for your car. From the video posted I saw the outer board (which has the indicator) has 11 pin configuration.

My AU model car with laser light, has 9 pin configuration, so assume EU model would be the same as AU model.

So your order may not work.

Also access to remove the top screw for the outer board is major PITA if you dont have the right tool. I happen to have this in the toolbox and it just works.

They call these cars a global platform, and they have so many changes with just each model year. It's crazy. Good find.

Didn't spot in the video - is there a separate Bluetooth module? Thought earlier in the thread it was mentioned that it was a separate box that had to get mounted in the right place.

Is that top bolt allen or torx?
EDIT: that pic looked like an allen wrench... confirmed hawaiiracer's commnet that it's torx.

You need a very small torx wrench to do the job. There is no way to use a ratchet (at least I have tried, I may have more tools in garage than an average auto store ).

The screw is blocked by all the surrounding frame and has very little clearance to squeeze the wrench in, left alone the ratchet.

You can see the screw through the hole when you pop the hood opened.

I think if you need to buy something because you don't have anything that fits. Search "low profile torx." You'll run into these types of results. This is like a $10 kit on Amazon. You can probably get a single T20, even cheaper.

So I tried using the recommended app below on my Samsung s21 ultra and quite frankly it sucks. Explains the poor ratings it got. The app keeps crashing on me and there is no way for me to add a Bluetooth device.

Are there any other alternatives?

Is the yellow dark like on the M5CS yellow? The pics look almost brownish yellow. Kind of of reminds me of the E92 M3 halo bulb color.

I just tried to take more pictures and the apple phone camera just can't capture the true color. These still look yellow orange, when the actual DLR pipe, is blood red, and it doesn't glow like it does in the pics. I tried to adjust the settings before and after I took the picture.
