On my third month in QC… nobody seems to know anything. Incredibly frustrating! Looks like the M4 vert will be here just in time for snow any suggestions?

Just got this from my Dealership

"Hi I heard back from our rep who has been inquiring of the factory. They said not much Information but the 155 status implies they are waiting on a rework of some sort. Also the factories have revised schedules in July and august so he expects us to see some action later this month when they pick back up."

Hard to believe this is the only info they can come up with also abbreviated schedule in July and August? :

Mine was in QC for about a week. Then just about two hours ago it went to Final Assembly -> Ready for Transport and is now in Awaiting Carrier Assignment.

I ordered mine in early April 2021, and it took forever (in my mind)...finally arriving in mid-June. Yep, 10 excruciating weeks.

But compared to the wait for many of you...

Guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Nevertheless, you guys have patience that I just don't have. I would have bought another car, or found a G8X sitting on a lot.

might as well join in this thread, tomorrow morning will be 1 week in QC purgatory for me. it's been a long road (prod# since March 2022), hopefully this doesn't stretch even longer.

I just started another thread asking about summer break at the factory but this is the right thread for my question. It's obvious that mine is now in 'QC Purgatory' or so I think. It's been there now for a few days. I guess it's a wait and see. Also, as my other thread asked, I guess the factories slow down in the month of August due to summer breaks.

Mines been stuck in QC for 3 days. Genius is no help so I don’t have a clue as when it will be done. It’s a ‘23 model so maybe that has something to do with it?

Well I must have done some really bad $hit in a previous life... I did 96 days in QC purgatory last/this year. There are others from late last year that did well over 120+

I checked mine on the recall info tool, nothing open. been stuck in QC since 8/4 and thanks to the hiatus, will be there until at least end of August, so likely a whole month for who knows what.

Anecdotally (including personal experience), whatever is being resolved during QC will not show up as a stop sale, unless you've been in QC for a really long time and they just happen to fix your recall while waiting for whatever it's waiting in QC for.

Most of us from the beginning of the thread were held in QC waiting for a CID. None of us had CID as a stop sale. But, toward the end (after 100+ days) I think some of those waiting had some of their stop sales fixed while waiting on the CID. My stop sales were not resolved prior to release from QC and ended up being resolved at the port.

Quick question…how many of you guys out there with a PROLONGED time in THE Purgatory had ordered individual paint v. those who didn't?
Was talking to a dealer who was telling me that those stuck in QC Purgatory are mostly individual paint jobs, but somehow it doesn't make sense, since you get stuck after your car has been through the paint booth.
Any comments out there? :

I guess it's not out of the question that a car could be stuck in QC for a paint related issue. Part of the QC process is ensuring the paint is correct and if it isn't *and* you have an individual color, I guess it is possible that could hold things up as they wait for the next "batch" of the individual color. But, I would have a hard time imagining that it would hold it up for much more than a week or two.

*** THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ***

That's what I feel like doing…only thing keeping me is my Individual paint job, otherwise…POOF! I was GONE!!!

I dont think so.

I have dravit (not totally indiv, but close), and there were others with dravit during my week31. I got held in QC while other Dravits went through very quickly and they were in front of or behind me like 3 hours in status change apart as we were tracking.

I have a feeling it is something related to the electronics/software ID8 fault maybe, or some damage/fault with something mechanical or aesthetically they have to address with allocation of spare parts, who knows. All I do know that is very VERY clear is they need to re-evaluate their QC process and prioritize whatever is required (parts etc) to get cars to meet QC and move on.

I only offered that as a consideration for those that thought their delay might be because of their individual color. My underlying point is that it isn't likely.

From most of the posts on here, any extended time in QC (months+) is usually related to something that basically makes the car undriveable. For some of us from the beginning of this thread it was the CID.

*** AGAIN PURE SPECULATION ***

Without someone on the inside telling you what is going on (which eventually happened for those of us waiting on CIDs) there is no way to know what is causing the delay.

It's the acronym for infotainment screen.
