This m3 shapes up pretty well. Too bad I used up my m3 ticket and now not sure I will want one ever again. Will see....

If the 4 series concept is any indication, the next M3 grill will be horrible. BMW is trying to compete with Lexus on who can make the largest and ugliest grill on the market.

Is BMW just trolling all of us? One thing is for certain, the outline is less funky pentagonal vis-a-vis the renderings and more like the recent G22 concept. Getting interesting!

Scott, do you know if there will be a "pure" 6MT Coupe and Sedan? I'm starting to think I may move from 4(2DR) to M4(2DR)... so I can enjoy a 6MT one last new BMW

to sum up:
we saw this: then, this: and now, this: it seems like they don't know what to do honestly, the first thing to do is to sack the entire design team. but I have a temporary solution: BMW, keep the G20 330i's grill (and not the M340i's) Put that grill on the M3 and you'll be fine. |

The 4's from this thread have the Concept's mesh: BMW G22 4 Series Coupe Has Been Spied! https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1633309 ....so it's really anybody's guess where each grille style will fit in. |

It's kind of amazing how many people complain about a product that is obviously unfinished.
Not liking the potential size of the grill I get to an extent. Commenting that a heavily camouflaged test mule has pieces that look unrefined or roughly pieced together makes no sense. Next we'll have people hating the camo'ed swirly black and white paint job, whining about how it hides the lines of the car too much. I'm not a big fan of what we think the grill will look like. But I'm also reserving final judgement for the final product. |

Audi went through this transition from small grilles to large ones over a decade ago. At first, everyone hated it. But today, most Audi owners envy it and couldn’t stand to see an Audi without it.
In the end, everything grows on people. Design changes were always controversial in BMW’s past. The only M car that probably wasn’t controversial was the e30 M3 and that’s because it was the first one. I vividly remember that the e36 M3 was not welcomed with open arms. Same thing happened with the e46 M3. And then the e9x received a lot of hate from enthusiasts, as well. |

I think the finished product will look good.
I have a feeling the grill will be large, but maybe only 80% (random number I pulled out of thin air) of the size of the concept 4. So still large but slightly "refined." Add in all the little M touches and it should look real mean. Excited to see it. |
