Because it will not be disclosed. They will charge nearly $140k for that car. That paint finish is not as easily matched as typical gloss paints. I don't care what anyone says, factory paintwork is only factory once. No matter how good the paint shop is, it will never be an exact match. If they want to be honest and knock some $ off the price, then the buyer goes into it with eyes wide open. You know they won't disclose it unless someone directly asks.

We are all entitled to our opinions. I get it, can’t make the same car over and over. Some will like it, others won’t. BMW has changed quite a bit. Not to the better for me, better for others.

But to get offended enough by a comment to quote it in a thread that elicits comments…
I don't think you get it. We are laughing at your expense

I am not offended, and neither are the others. I get the whole "entitled to opinion" "free speech" etc etc. Its one thing to laugh at it when you have a better car, it's another when you don't.

What would actually be worse if someone buys it at full price or more for some premium grab that dealership will put on it and then come here all happy to share and then find all this out. That would suck. Maybe the story was big enough locally that someone won’t go in and buy it misinformed. If they offered a discount, then it’s fine like you said… the person buying it then will know and be able to make an informed choice. I guess in the end it just depends on how shady that dealer is with hiding stuff.

The same goes for my brother and mother so I can safely say, with that many vehicles in the family it wasn't luck. I'd say we had a pretty good sample size.
Well there's exactly why. Theyre all old. Older ones were fine. Once you hit like 2015-ish and above, maybe 2018, theyre garbage. If you'd like a good subaru, completely stock with a blown transmission and head gasket, feel free to come get it.

Factual. I believe it. Especially anything in the past 10 years. Older ones tho, sometimes reliable but not anymore.

Well, not sure if that counts my 2020 impreza or not but its got a blown head gasket so...

New cars that are damaged at port, VPC, or the dealer typically will require a signed damage disclosure describing the damage and extent of repair. This would apply to all new cars and service loaners. The dealership will have to disclose this to whoever buys this car.

Sadly, it will probably turn some 1st time buyers away from this car, and may be difficult for the dealer to sell without a significant discount.

Once it’s used no one else would know and it won’t show up on the Carfax.

First person who buys it will know, but most people just sign the disclosure
and move on knowing it won’t be on the carfax/impact their potential resale. Especially minor cosmetic repairs. This stuff happens at the port and VPC all the time.

I had no idea that damage that occurred on the lot does not make it onto a carfax report. Is it the same if the damage was more severe, ie- more significant vandalism? What about water losses? Just written off and scrapped? Just seems jacked as technically the vehicle will have been refinished and if it is not a complete respray someone will most certainly see that it has been repaired.
