Interesting, and indeed I thought I was getting the generic/blackwall ones when I ordered originally. Discount Tire and TireRack have merged so they're basically the same now, and I get a small discount ordering local. Knowing this information now, I would say something but I think these N0 will fit a lot better. Will find out when I get back from a trip how they ride / fit.

Good to hear! I like the way yours look. The ones I had on the car have a stretched look to them, even though they protect the wheel but about a 1/2 inch.

Here's a comparison to show what I mean. Front is square (OEM), rear is "stretched" - I believe the surface area that touches the road is actually smaller / narrower than the P0 ones.

Ah I see, yeah quite a difference from the N0 Porsche spec.

I was on a pretty aggressive drive today with some super cars, and the 285 (BMW*) & 295 (N0) were spectacular together. Car was planted, and still somewhat neutral.

I have noticed, the rear seems a tad stiffer now, even though the sidewall hasn't changed much. Like mentioned above, I'm assuming assuming this is due to it being a Porsche rear engine tire.

Rocking 10mm spacers on the front now. Cured fin rubbing by trimming, but I'm seeing now that the tire is rubbing the rear section of the liner at certain steering degrees. No real fix to that, except for removing the spacers. YOLO.

This 285/30 is a massive tire, pretty happy that the G8x can fit it with almost no work.

The rub on that part of the fender liner is only in reverse? I wonder if there is anything behind there since, a simple fix may be to heat it up then, push it back to give slight clearance.

And the 10mm spacers look amazing!

The rubbing on the rear section of the liner happens either reverse or forward, it's pretty faint and not too bad.

I had the same thinking as you.. I might take a heat gun to it and reshape it a bit. There does seem to be a structural component about a 1/2" on the backside from when I push on it, but that should be just enough to get it out of the way.

Thanks!

285/30 on the front is legit, probably a little too much tire for a daily driver, but it grips beyond believe. When it comes time to replacing, I'll probably just go with a 275.

I have a 295/30 on the rear.

Would a 275 up front and 295 rear still fall within the 1% for xdrive cars?

Here's a pic of the new tires (Porsche spec) installed, much better and very smooth.

Very nice!

As for the 1%, I'm not too sure. My G80 is RWD, so it's a non-issue.

You could however, go for a 275/35 up front, and a 305/30 in the rear. I think those would be a very close match in height.

Nice! I say do center caps. It just finishes the look, especially when we're dealing with an M car.

No center caps was always acceptable when I used to have Volks on a $20k car.

Welp, just bit the bullet and ordered 20" Ultra M Spec in diamond silver for my incoming BRG. I was debating between gold and silver, but opted for silver as my E90 M3 has gold wheels already.

Whats the wait time for that order? 6-12 months? Diamond Silver is going to look super classy on BRG and gold would have been more sporty. Either way, both would look amazing.

I wish 6 months. Was told about a year out. So I'm ranging that in the 8-12 month range lol. Worth the wait though, and I got a hell of a deal.

This is going to be pure class.

Is the diamond silver similar to titanium silver? That's gotta be my all time favorite Volk color.

I wish Fish! Titanium silver is my favorite color of all time. Diamond silver is more of a metallic silver. I think it’s a brighter mercury silver in my opinion, but should look good with BRG.

Love that finish! A little like titanium with more sheen.
