Great write-up and a great car! I’ve done Performance Center Delivery 5 times, and your post captures the experience better than any other I’ve seen. Congrats on the car! Enjoy it until your next PCD!

Very solid combination, exterior, interior and transmission. For me, the interior wins it. The seats look particularly simpler and eye pleasing without the black strip that runs down the middle. Less is more!

Whoa. Yeah perhaps a new thread. I’m glad I noticed this. Which update was it?

Oxford Green Metallic over full Tartufo is beautiful. The only green I'd like better would be British Racing Green, but OGM has M3 heritage with the E46 and so it's a true BMW color. Enjoy the car!

Thanks! Once I had settled on getting some shade of green, BRG was definitely a contender, ultimately I decided I wanted a metallic color and settled on oxford green over tartufo for exactly that reason.... the classic oxford green over cinnamon combo of the E46.

Beautiful car! Congrats! That wait just for the allocation must have been crazy painful!

Wait, you mean everyone doesn't do that?

I loved the excel too btw. I have a similar document with all my cars (and lots of admittedly irrelevant metrics and tracking).

Thanks! The allocation wait was BRUTAL. It was the ambiguity of it, the games dealers were playing, and the fact that I had over $7k tied up in deposits just waiting for ONE of the dealers to get me an allocation. Once I got the allocation, I felt the rest of the wait was more tolerable since I was now official.

At least you did it through more than one dealer. If I had to wait for only my local dealer to get an allocation for anything I think I'd still be waiting. I had a shorter, but similar feeling wait with my M8 which after was done being built sat on a mystery hold for 78 days which no one ANYWHERE at BMW could tell me a single thing about.

I think I remember reading about your wait. It's when you don't know why things are taking so long that the wait becomes almost unbearable. And so many different areas where there could be hold-ups... sometimes I think it's a miracle we get these cars at all with how long of a journey it is and with all the different places it can get stuck
